Elder Tree Resumes - Saturday, August 28 at 10:00 AM
After a summer hiatus, Elder Tree, a weekly gathering for sharing the stories of people in our church, will resume Saturday, August 28 at 10AM on the church Zoom link. Our new Assistant Minister, Rev. AJ van Tine will join in to listen to your stories. What do you most love about our church? What brought you here, and what keeps you here? All are welcome. Blessing of the Backpacks - Monday, September 7, 2021 at 7:00 PM
For all children and youth returning to school of any kind - join us outside on church grounds to bless our beloved youngsters as they begin a new school year. More information here - invite your friends - all are welcome!
 


Caregivers Support Group - Wednesday, September 8 at 12:00 PM
For anyone providing care for another and would like to connect with others who are also caregivers. The next meeting is on Wednesday, September 8. Facilitators Elise Wall and John Farrell welcome your questions. To attend, use this Zoom link.
THIS WEEK IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
This week in RE, we met for the first of two RE "Soft Landing" events to ease back into church and RE outdoors! If you haven't already, do Register for RE and let us know if your family can join us this Sunday, August 29! With this season's worship theme of Beginning Again in Love, Jr./Sr. High youth made outdoor sculptures reflecting the powerful forces of the Hindu Trimurti; K-5 Children focused on honoring our relationship with soil as a source of life and renewal.

Coming up: Monday, September 6 at 7:00 PM we will be meeting for the Blessing of the Backpacks for all children and youth returning to school of any kind, and Sunday, September 12 is Homecoming Weekend! Watch your RE newsletter for details and more information on upcoming events.

  • If you are feeling sick or have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, we want to know and support you in whatever ways are possible.
 
  • If you have lost your source of income and are worried about making ends meet, we have emergency funds to support you. 
 
  • If you need help with getting food or other essential supplies - we will do what we can to help.

Online Guided Meditation Series - Begins Thursday, September 2 for 5 weeks
Start out your autumn with the gift of meditating in a welcoming small group. Cultivate embodied openness and calm as you are gently guided. Five online one-hour (via Zoom) meditation classes Thursdays (choose either 3:00 PM or 5:30 PM) will be offered on September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30. Beginning meditators welcome. Best if you can attend at least 4 of the 5. Questions or to sign up, email Rev Joy Collins or call/text 585-749-0695. This is free; space is limited. It is wonderful to center your heart in a small community!
  
Update on Homecoming Services - Sunday, September 12 
Homecoming is Sunday, September 12 and we will be offering 2 worship services that morning. At 9:30 AM, we’ll have an all-ages, in-person outdoor worship service on church grounds, with masking and social distance required. At 11:15 AM, we’ll have an online service at our usual Zoom link - live.rochesterunitarian.org. We are so looking forward to being with you all again as we start another church year together! 
 
DRUUMM Fall Caucuses - Saturday, September 18 at 4:00 PM
Diverse and Revolutionary UU Multicultural Ministries (DRUUMM) invites DRUUMM members and BIPOC friends to their Fall Regional Caucuses. Join us for spiritual grounding, intentional relationship building, and facilitated discussion. There will be a parallel Allies for Racial Equity regional caucus for white people at the same time.
