John Kriesel somehow survived a roadside bombing that claimed his legs and killed two of his best friends. The guy who wasn't supposed to survive and was told he probably would be in a wheelchair the rest of his life walked out of Walter Reed Army Medical Center after nine months.

Kriesel is the director of veteran services for Anoka County, a part-time personality on KFAN Radio, and co-author of the book, " Still Standing: The Story of SSG John Kriesel," winner of 8 national book awards.

Rhythm on the Rails is a FREE summer concert series that takes place from 6:00PM-9:00PM on five Wednesday evenings in July and August. Held on Lewis Street in Downtown Shakopee, Rhythm on the Rails features top-notch live music, family fun, food and brew vendors, and more! Each concert kicks off with a local act, followed by a not-to-miss regional headliner. Attendees can purchase food and drink tickets to be used at a variety of vendors, enjoy a free kids zone with inflatables and face painting, browse the unique local stores, and experience the history of Downtown Shakopee - all while listening to live music throughout the night.
