Our New Strategic Plan
North York General Hospital (NYGH) has launched its new Strategic Plan 2020-2025, Thinking Beyond, which will prepare our organization to meet the needs of our diverse, growing and aging community.

Shaped by the input and experiences of thousands of people at NYGH, patients and families, community members, and partners, the strategy anticipates the changing needs of our community and reimagines the future of local health care.
Providing compassionate, non-judgmental
and empathic care: Dr. Meeta Patel
If you’re a member of the community, chances are you’ve spent some time at North York General's Charlotte and Lewis Steinberg Emergency. On any given day, you can find Dr. Meeta Patel, Emergency Medicine Physician at NYGH, providing exceptional patient care, training the next generation of physicians, or taking steps to increase diversity, equity and inclusivity in the workplace.
A labour of love:
Bringing accessible and safe care to the community
Anticipating the high demand for flu shots this fall, members of North York Toronto Health Partners (NYTHP), our Ontario Health Team (OHT), mobilized to support North York residents in need.

By looking at trends in previous years, the NYTHP was able to identify groups with low vaccination rates including people who do not have a family physician/ are not part of a Family Health Team or other primary care practice; and residents of congregate settings like group homes and shelters without vaccination programs.
Investing in tomorrow - building healing care environments for our community
This past year has challenged health systems around the globe, forcing organizations to think differently and adjust their approach to delivering care. From introducing digital care models like virtual physician appointments to working together to find the best medical interventions to improve patient outcomes, health care delivery will never be the same.

North York General Hospital is thinking beyond today to how we can revamp current spaces and enhance care environments now and into the future.
