Happy New Year!
I hope you and your family have enjoyed winter break! While 2020 certainly brought its challenges, we have so much to be thankful for. The Circle Center staff and students have shown so much resiliency and creativity since January of 2020 and although it has been a challenge, it has also opened doors for new possibilities.

Please add any January pictures you have taken to this album. Take a look at our December video so you can see all the fun that took place last month. Thank you so much for sharing your at home pictures with us!

If your child was exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID and lives in the same household as that person OR if your child has tested positive for COVID while on winter break, please email me directly at [email protected] prior to Monday so we can talk about the requirements for a safe return to school. The quarantine requirements for school are different that than the CDC guidelines and the safety of all of our students and staff is my highest priority.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family!

Mrs. Hamm

As we return to school on Monday, please know that we will continue to go outside for two recesses and PE daily, unless it is too icy or the temperature is under 15 degrees. This means your child will need to bring boots, gloves, snow pants, hats, and gloves each day. Our students are allowed to play in the snow, but they are not allowed to throw snowballs. We are also limited on indoor space when students forget warm clothing at home. In the past, students could stay in the office, but with social distance guidelines we can only have a few students at a time in the office. This will mean if several students have not brought the proper clothing, then the rest of the class will have to remain indoors for recess. If your child is in need of a coat, hats, or gloves, please contact [email protected].
  • If you are picking your K-3 student up in the back, please have your child's name and teacher written on a piece of paper and hold it up when you are waiting for your child. This is especially important when we are dismissing from inside on bad weather days. It will help speed things up!
  • When leaving our front lot, please exit to the right on Mill Street if there is a line present. Please remember it is a right turn only into the pick up and drop off lane in the rear of the school.
  • We have been seeing an influx of students sitting in the front seat or in the back seat with no booster or car seat. If your family is in need of a proper fitting car seat or booster seat, please email [email protected] or myself.
  • Please send two masks each day with your child. The disposable masks should not be worn each day to school without changing them. With the colder weather, masks can become uncomfortable and wet after being outside due to condensation. Over the weekend, please check the fit of your child's mask. We are seeing more masks falling below the nose and more reminders are being give. I think some are getting stretched out. It is a great time to do a fit check!

Miss Karen's Classroom Pictures
Miss Karen's Classroom Highlight

In early childhood, PLAY is what develops a child’s physical, emotional, and mental growth. Although this year has been different as we cannot “play” with our classmates, we are so very proud of our students’ adjustment to a whole new classroom routine and their unique ways to interact with their peers. They continue to demonstrate progress in their social emotional and pre-readiness skills each day. From air hugs, elbow bumps, wearing a mask inside and outside, and walking with our elephant trunks, the children continue to amaze and inspire us!

This past week has been a busy one for our littlest learners! We continued to explore our “Music Study”, using a new instrument each day to sing our circle time songs. We were so excited to make our own tambourine instruments! We have been singing and playing our tambourines to different kinds of music (Jazz, Classical) and are super excited to sing and record a holiday song for our families!

We are very proud of our little friends as they continue to learn how to be a kind, compassionate friend!

Love,
Miss Karen
