Despite the wintery weather, spring is coming to Hilltop Farm. Come and explore the all that happens during the change of seasons! ....This weekend and beyond!

THIS SATURDAY!
Come to a
Wassail Celebration!

This Saturday afternoon, March 10, FOFAH welcomes the community to a  Wassail  Celebration.

FOFAH has scheduled a  Wassailing the Orchard Celebration at 1:00 PM where friends and community will come together to bless the trees and living things in the new orchard. The ancient tradition of Wassailing, which includes singing to bless land, trees, bees and livestock.

We will learn blessing songs for the apple trees and other farm critters, and then process to the orchard to Wassail the trees! Children and families are most welcome (though there will be some quiet listening time). Dress warmly for the weather and bright colors and bling of any sort is most appropriate!  The Wassailing Celebration will be led by Sarah Stockwell-Arthen of EarthSpirit.

For the past several years, FOFAH volunteers have been clearing and preparing an area in the "Secret Garden", developing the area into an orchard. The plan is to grow heritage apples for cider making as well as the replanting of  several varieties of berry bushes. Through several grants from the North Central Connecticut Health Department- Fruit Trail Grant, FOFAH has been able to improve the soils and create the orchard.

Please register for the workshop,by calling 860-758-0668.
