Dear Morning Star Families and Friends,
|
We have entered our second week of school and are settling in nicely to our daily school routines. We have many new students and families this school year, and it is wonderful to see new friendships forming among our students.
At Morning Star, we believe that the relationship between home and school is essential to the growth of every student. Please look for Class DoJo messages and/or weekly emails from teachers. We hope you will feel comfortable reaching out to your child’s teacher(s) via email or by calling the school. Also, know that myself and Mrs. Binder are here for you as well.
Our faith is an integral part of our school. Next week is our first school Mass on Thursday, September 2nd at 10:00am. Parents are welcome to join us. Face masks are required.
Lastly, we hope you plan to join us for our Family Fun Day at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (2400 Mayport Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32233) hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Mass will begin at 10:00 am followed by our MSS Family Fun Day which will include a cookout, fellowship, pony rides, K-9 Warrior visit, and fun! Click HERE to view flyer.

Volunteering at Morning Star:
Morning Star School requires each family to contribute fifteen hours of volunteer service to the school annually. Parents not serving fifteen hours will be required to pay $5 per hour for the lacking hours. Invoices will be sent home for remaining hours in May.
Please know that everything you do makes a difference, and we are grateful to have your help. Parent participation is crucial to our school.
To be able to volunteer in the school you must attend the “Protecting God’s Children" class and undergo a Live Scan Fingerprinting. Until this screening process is complete you will not be allowed to volunteer in the school. Sign up for your Protecting God's Children class soon, they fill up very quickly.

The ‘Ohana Fundraiser
Christ the King Catholic School student, Gianna Capri, with the support of the Cinderella Program has initiated a fundraiser to benefit the students at Morning Star School. The ‘Ohana Fundraiser was created in Memory of Michael Alberico, her beloved uncle who passed away in April 2021 of complications from a degenerative disease. Funds raised will go toward building a therapeutic sensory room for Morning Star School’s students. Thank you, Gianna, and the Capri family, for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
