N EWEST N EWS
Dear Father Jeremy and everyone at Holy Ascension Church,
Happy Feast!

Thank you for the beautiful album you gave me at our block party. The notes of memories and photos of our time together over the years really make the album a spiritual treasure for me, and I am so grateful for all of you. Getting to fellowship again at the block party was a great blessing and the best send off to the monastery imaginable. I will always remember it as a glimpse into Paradise. I will miss all of you but am glad to be reminded by so many of you this week that you will always be my family. Thank you for your prayers. You have mine, too.

with love in Christ,
Jeannine

Exercising Greater Care
In our city and state, coronavirus is now spreading at a rapidly increasing rate. Please do what you can to prevent the virus from spreading within our church. The precautions you take can protect others who are vulnerable to serious sickness or even death. They also protect the reputation of our church, by reducing the possibility that Holy Ascension will be identified as a source of infections.

While at church services and events, please
  • maximize physical distance from other households,
  • wear face masks when possible (especially indoors),
  • cover your coughs and sneezes, with your sleeve or a tissue, and
  • teach your children to follow these precautions.

Your choices outside of church are also important. The more risks you take in your daily life, the greater the chance you might become infected and then bring the disease into our church (without even knowing it). By practicing the recommended precautions throughout your lives, you reduce the risk not only to your family, but also to the church and our most vulnerable members.

In His unchanging love, God has allowed this pandemic to take place because some good can come out of it. If it moves us to set aside our preferences for the sake of others, then it will truly be to our benefit. Brothers and sisters, "let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." (Galatians 6:9–10, RSV).

Yours in Christ,
Fr Jeremy
