FOOD DRIVE

Landau employees collected canned goods, paper products, cleaning supplies, and other non-perishable items to donate to the North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) food bank as part of the Northern Allegheny Rotary Club's community project. Many members of our community need this resource throughout the year, and it is especially needed right now during the pandemic. For more information on how to help or how to donate, please visit NHCO's website:  https://nhco.org/.

BACK IN THE OFFICE

Now that Allegheny County has entered the green phase, we are back in the office and still following CDC guidelines. Anyone working in or visiting the office must wear a mask and have their temperature taken upon entering th e building. Guidelines and recommendations are being enforced on our jobsites, including temperature screenings, masks, and sanitation stations. The Master Builders' Association has also done a great job with updating and distributing information for its members by newsletter and website .

Carnegie Mellon University
South Neville Garage Addition

Landau Building Company completed an addition to the existing Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) South Neville Street Facility Maintenance Services garage bays, which were originally built by Landau in 2015. The 1,200 SF single-story addition is to be used as an electric vehicle service garage for the College of Engineering.  The facility has a bathroom, high-speed electric car charger, and other finishes that match the original building.  As the concept changed due to budget constraints, Graves Design Group and Landau collaborated extensively to develop the design within CMU's budget.

NEW PROJECTS

Landau Building Company has begun refresh work on the Emergency Department and 10 beds at Fairmont Hospital in Fairmont, WV, for WVU Medicine. Work includes carpentry, floor covering, painting, plumbing, and mechanical as needed to get the hospital operational. The hospital will be open on June 30,2020.

Landau Building Company has been contracted by RIDC for electrical repairs and restoration work on Building S at Keystone Commons, located in Braddock, PA. The 4-story, 180,000 SF structure sustained water damage on several floors. Work will commence shortly.
