KSQD Talk of the Bay
YOUTH ACTION NETWORK GIVES YOUNG SANTA CRUZANS A VOICE
YAN the opportunity to be on KSQD's Talk of the Bay Radio show on August 16th.

Youth Action Network Coordinator, Amanda Gamban, was joined by Natalia Galdamez, a freshman at Harbor High, and Andrea Magdaleno, a second-year student at Cabrillo College from Watsonville.

In the interview, we discussed how we are building the Youth Action Network from the ground up with youth, network members, and UCSC research partners. Natalia and Andrea also highlighted the work they are doing within YAN and the other programs they are involved in, Salud y Cariño & Jóvenes SANOS.

New YAN Jurisdictional Representative
We are excited to announce and introduce our newest Jurisdictional Representative to YAN, Councilmember Donna Lind! Donna was formally appointed by the Scotts Valley City Council and will serve as a bridge between youth and decision-makers to the Youth Action Network.

“I volunteered for the appointment because of my background including having started the City of Scotts Valley’s first Juvenile Program decades ago. I served as Juvenile Officer for several years and developed various programs with local schools and in the community. The Scotts Valley Juvenile Program received local and state awards for the excellent work done with local youth. I later supervised the Juvenile Program as a Scotts Valley Police Sergeant. I believe my experience as a police officer and with the Criminal Justice Council, can be of value to the work of the Youth Action Network.". -Donna Lind

Thank you for your commitment, Donna! We look forward to working with you!
