Music Heals
Inspired from our friends in the Johnstown Symphony in Western Pennsylvania, we offer playlists of music that have proved meaningful to LGSO musicians and audience during this challenging time. There are two ways to participate:

Listen: playlists will arrive in LGSO emails. You can also follow us on Facebook.

Whenever I hear 'Africa' by Toto I am immediately in a good mood! It is one of my favorite songs and some of my musician friends even sang it a cappella at my wedding. I heard Toto perform it live at Summerfest a few years ago and sang along to every word!

I have performed this piece twice, once with LGSO and once in college at UW-Eau Claire. It is such a beautiful, simple melody and I love the way that it builds.

I love the Simple Gifts Melody and the way Aaron Copland passes it from instrument to instrument in Appalachian Spring. I performed this piece in college and walked down the aisle to it at my wedding, so it holds a very special place in my heart!
Gustavo Dudamel is my favorite conductor and I love watching these young people play such an exciting piece! So much energy!
