fireplaceThe Fireplace Series

Another edition of the Fireplace Series is upcoming! Join professors Bronwyn Parry (Global Health and Social Medicine and Head of the School of Global Affairs, Kings College London) and Nick Mosey (Departments of Chemistry and Physics and Associate Dean of Research, Faculty of Arts & Science) as they discuss matter - what it is, and what it does - in  How Matter Matters on  March 13.

Professors Parry and Mosey aim to have an open-ended discussion about how  matter comes to matter in chemistry, forensics and wider social and public life. In thinking through these questions they consider how we understand presence and absence, wear and tear, and the politics of track and trace. These scholars invite you to join them in unpacking the interplay between mechanical forces, chemical reactions and affective materialities.

The event will take place in the Fireplace Reading Room in Stauffer Library. Tea will be served at 9:45am.

You can listen to some of the previous events and discussions on our  Fireplace Series webpage.
