Governor Holcomb extends all Indiana school closures to May 1
Dear Bishop Chatard School Families,

Today, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb directed all schools in the state to remain closed until May 1, 2020. In accordance with that directive, Bishop Chatard High School will continue operating with an e-Learning format until that time. Our school's leadership team is meeting to discuss how this extension will impact our educational program and other school activities, including commencement, and we will communicate those decisions to you as soon as they are confirmed.

Below is the latest mandate from the Indiana Department of Education regarding the extension of school closings. Please know that we continue to be committed to providing the highest quality educational experience possible thanks to our innovative and dedicated faculty and administration. We appreciate your support of your children's e-Learning experience and your understanding of the unique challenges we face.

We will keep you apprised of updates to your student's learning experience as well as the school calendar of events as the circumstances around the Coronavirus continue to develop.

May God bless you and your family as we rely on Him who is our strength.

Bill Sahm
President

In working with Governor Holcomb, IDOE announced the following for schools:

  • Mandated Statewide School Closure until May 1 – This mandated closure follows recent Centers for Disease Control guidelines to limit gatherings to less than 10, and may be extended through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Schools utilizing eLearning can continue to do so as determined by their local school administrators and school boards.
