Renewable Natural Gas Trucks' Role in Improving Air Quality
Thomas Lawson, President of the California Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition (CNGVC) published an article in US Gas Vehicles noting that Renewable Natural Gas trucks can play a major role in improving air quality in California immediately. He noted that several elected officials (Assembly Member Gipson authoring AB3111 and Assembly Member Quirk-Silva authoring AB1002) agree.

Natural Gas for Vehicles Average Carbon Intensity
Natural gas used for vehicle fuel in California now has an average carbon intensity (CI) that is less than zero. The California Air Resources Board has released data showing that the average CI is -0.85gCO2e/MJ. The average CI for grid electricity in 2020 is +81.49gCO2e/MJ.

Clean Fuel Corridor on I-80
The Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition has begun an effort with the Salt Lake City Clean Cities Coalition to establish a clean fuel corridor on Interstate 80 from Sacramento to Salt Lake City. Seven Clean Cities Coalitions are doing the same thing along I-94 from Montana to Michigan.

Ford Reveals EV Transit Van
Ford Transit Van EV info has been released: The eTransit will be available in 2022 with a price that starts at $45,000. The van will have a 68kWh battery pack giving it a range of 126 miles. The one-motor configuration will provide 266hp and 317 lb-ft of torque.

Trucks Magazine published an article featuring the hydrogen fuel cell announcements between Volvo and Daimler, by Toyota and by Hyundai, and have stated that it will be “Game over” for diesel, as hydrogen becomes the preferred heavy-duty fuel in the future.

Moline's Journey to Implement Renewable Products in Fleet Vehicles
Moline, Illinois, has worked with the United Soybean Board to implement renewable products in their fleet vehicles, shop operations and public works. Bio-based products for vehicles and shops include biodiesel, tires, lubricating oil, grease, hydraulic fluid and brake cleaner. Other applications include asphalt, paint, turf overlayment and carpet.

GM’s Hummer EV Pickup can be ordered today, but delivery won’t start until Q4 2021, and the only versions you can order now are the fully loaded $112K version. GM is talking about 1,000hp, 11,500lb/ft torque and 0-60 in 3 seconds, with a 350 mile range and a 350kW charging capability

Rivian Announces BEV Pickup and SUV Will Begin Deliveries This Summer
Rivian has announce that their BEV pickup truck (R1T) and their BEV SUV (R1S) will begin deliveries this summer. The R1T will cost $75K and the R1S will cost $77.5K. Both will have 135kWh battery packs for an estimated 300 mile range.

NGVAmerica Funded Analysis on NOx and GHG Impact
NGVAmerica funded an analysis of the NOx and GHG impact of transitioning the 10,000 refuse trucks in New Jersey from diesel to either Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) or electric. The analysis showed well-to-wheel NOx and GHG emissions and total capital cost to be significantly lower using RNG.

Refineries Report
California Refineries: For the week ending 11/6/20, refineries in California produced 6,152 barrels of gasoline and 2,234 barrels of diesel. Gasoline production was up by 7.5% and diesel production was up by 2.4% from last week’s production numbers. The 11/10/20 wholesale spot price of propane on the Mont Belvieu Texas board was 54.5¢ per gallon, down a fraction from the 11/2/20 spot price.
