The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) presents two major events annually which brings together our corporate members and Woman-owned Businesses to share in networking, learning sessions, and discovering of business opportunities.
WBENC Summit & National Conference
In our new column, staff & board members share insider advice.

This month manager of Strategic Sourcing Sustainability & Supplier Diversity at Communications Test Design, Inc., George Ehrgott , addresses WBENC's major upcoming events.
The Summit & Salute is one of these signature events and is held every May. This year, it was located in Houston TX and had over 1,700 attendees – corporate procurement representatives, diversity and inclusion professionals, and women entrepreneurs who gathered together in Business Labs, Meet & Greet procurement roundtables, and the Salute Dinner that honors our WBE Stars from around the WBENC network. The Business Labs were new this year and provided an interactive learning opportunity for both corporate and women business professionals in several series of sessions.

The Meet & Greet allowed the WBEs to pitch their business to national corporations in the hopes that there might be a future opportunity. One of the secrets to success at the WBENC Summit & Salute is attending the pre-summit day when the Women’s Enterprise Forum meets as well as a Summit & Salute orientation session, Women of Color Development & Outreach Program, and NextGen Program meeting. Well worth getting there a day ahead!
The 2020 Summit & Salute is being held in Nashville TN March 16-18 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. Registration is already open.
The 2020 National Conference will be in Atlanta GA June 23-25. WBEC-East makes sure that we have opportunities to prepare for the Summit & Salute and the National Conference so check the website or emails for more information. Make sure these are on your calendar!

Did you know that  23 of the 100 fastest growing businesses in  2019 recognized by the  Entrepreneurs Forum at the  Philadelphia Inquirer's “Philly 100” event were  10,000 Small Businesses graduates?

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is designed for business owners who have a business poised for growth! It is an educational program that drives business growth, increases job creation and drives the business owner to  work strategically on  their business and not work  "in"  their business.   The curriculum designed by Babson College of Boston, goes beyond the basic concepts that many small business courses present and concentrates on a much deeper level of business strategy execution and growth.

It is a 13-week course, spread over three months, where over 504 businesses have graduated. If you gain acceptance,  you are provided a free scholarship from the Goldman Sachs Foundation!
