Give Grief a Voice Program Update
Our heartfelt thanks for your continued support of Give Grief a Voice. For 2020 we have added two new writers to our team and have a portfolio of six artists from which our families can choose their favorite to create their art.

We have already interviewed 7 families and their stories + artwork are in process. Three are from the Portland area and our team was in Iowa early this month to be with four families.

Plans currently include gathering stories from families in the Los Angeles area. We have an additional 4 families scheduled for late April in Los Angeles - assuming travel is not impacted - and 6 others in Los Angeles we hope to schedule for late May/early June.  There is a family we are planning to reach in North Dakota - trying our first virtual interview. Plus, there 3 more in the Portland area who are hoping to be included this year.

This brings us to potentially 21 families to provide the opportunity to share the story of their little one with a professional writer and receive an artist’s representation for them to cherish for a lifetime. It takes $1000 for us to offer each family on this journey of grief. We have funding in place to serve 15. We welcome your sponsorship for any or all of this expense. For further information and to get a glimpse of the impact of Give Grief a Voice, check here.

Be watching for the save-the-date for our fall Give Grief a Voice event. This will be a meaningful gallery showing of the completed art pieces.

Our 4th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for MAY 16, 2020 at Sah-Hah-Lee Golf Course in Clackamas, OR

Tickets are available, you can become a sponsor, or make a donation – we treasure your support!

As of today, we’re hoping it can be a welcomed activity at the end of a few weeks of social distancing and community minded self-quarantine.

Recommendations from the CDC are changing every day, and we will follow guidelines set by Clackamas County Public Health.

If we have to cancel the event or your circumstances change and you’d like to cancel, we will offer a full refund (minus required payment processing fees - approx 3%).
March is SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) Awareness Month
Our founder and president, Amanda, is an ambassador for SUDC. The mission of the SUDC Foundation is to “promote awareness, advocate for research, and support those affected by SUDC. SUDC is the fifth leading category of death in children ages one to four, yet SUDC received no public funding.”  Learn more about their efforts to have March declared as SUDC Awareness month in all 50 states. Note: Oregon is sadly not yet one of the participating states. Also consider adding your name to this petition to urge the National Institute of Health to support research funding SUDC.
Bethany Living Features Amanda and Buzzy’s Bees
International Women’s Day was March 8, 2020. In this month’s issue of the printed periodical, Bethany Living, eight local women who’ve made a difference were highlighted. Amanda was chosen as one of those who are impacting others. We know that her spirit and vision inspire us!
Our website has a new look!
A sincere and huge thank you to our volunteer web designer, Amy Drews, for reworking our website. It has a fresh look and feel and a layout that better highlights the various programs we offer and helps clearly tell our story. Check it out!
