Jan 23, 2021 BDG Workshop - Growing Orchids

The Enjoyment and Challenge of Growing Orchids

The Bellevue Demonstration Garden (BDG) Workshop series can help you increase your gardening knowledge and skills. A broad range of topics based on scientific information emphasizing plants and methods that work in the Pacific Northwest are appropriate for both beginning and experienced gardeners.

The January 23 workshop will be presented by Master Gardener, Jim Olson. Learn the basic practices that will keep your orchids thriving and blooming year after year.

Have you ever looked at the orchids and wished you could raise them? Maybe you have tried with an orchid and ended with a failure. Repotting at a crucial time is vital. Jim will give tips about how and when to repot. Success is also related to watering, how much and how often. A fertilizing schedule is also helpful. Understanding the basic practices will go a long way toward success with these beautiful and interesting plants. Jim Olson is currently the president of the Master Gardener Foundation of King County.

Instructions for joining this Zoom talk will be sent to registrants at 7:30AM the day of the workshop. Workshops will be held on Saturdays, and the Zoom platform will be open at 9:00AM the day of the class. You must pre-register for this class to receive the Zoom instructions. A donation of $5 is suggested to help the Foundation support the Master Gardener program in King County.
