Dear caring friend,
Last week I got a note that broke my heart.
It was from Carlos, an 11-year-old boy who listens to the radio show you've so generously supported.
"Dear Pastor," the letter began.
"Two months ago my dad left home and I miss him a lot. He has given me everything I need in life, but he never gave me his love. This Christmas, I don't want toys or clothes. I just want him to come back and love me. My dream is that I can hug my dad this Christmas."
You and I can't make Carlos' dad come home. We can't tell Carlos it'll all be ok. But we can pray for him.
We can counsel him. We can be there for him.
We can make sure that through radio shows and TV programs and YouTube videos he can grow up knowing that there is a Dad in heaven who loves him more than any earthly person ever could.
And that's what you're doing by supporting the ministry of Encuentro - both financially and with your prayers.
For every Carlos that reaches out to us, there are many more who don't. Who suffer quietly. Who long for restoration. Who hang onto every word of encouragement on the radio, TV and social media.
Thank you for being there for them.
Thank you for supporting media that brings the light of the Gospel to people who are living in their darkest hour.
Thank you for bringing the life-changing love of Christ to men and women and youth and kids who often feel like they are trapped in a hopeless world.
Thank you for making sure that Carlos knows he is loved infinitely by his heavenly Father.
May the peace of Christ be with you this Christmas, and fill your heart and home with the joy of the Saviour's birth.
How blessed we are to call him Father.
And how blessed I am to call you friend.
