4th Quarter, 5 Day-a-Week, In-Person Learning

It is exciting to know that in a few short days, NRMS will return to 5 day-a-week, in-person learning.  I know that the teachers and staff share in this excitement, but it is important to realize that our students may be experiencing a whole host of emotions regarding next Monday.  Regardless of how our students are feeling, we will work hard to support our kids as we embark on the remainder of the school year.

Please know that we are not making changes to any of our mitigation strategies as we want to  continue to keep our students and staff as safe and healthy as possible.  Arrival and dismissal will look the same and continue to be staggered.  We have added tables to both the cafeteria and media center and we will continue to have two students per table for all lunch periods.  Students will have the option to go outside with a lunch aide during their lunch period, but please know that this is not the traditional recess period that we have had in the past as we still want to maintain social distancing to the best of our ability.  Also note that we will no longer be live streaming classes as all students are back at NRMS with the exception of those students who are on the Remote Learning Team.  

No matter the setting, it is my hope that our students are excited for the 4th quarter.  They continue to show resilience and the ability to stay positive regardless of what they have encountered this school year.  They are to be commended.  As always, please contact your child's teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, or me with any questions.

Important Notes:

NRMS Honor Society
7th Grade Students can pick up NRMS Honor Society applications from the main office starting today, March 17.  Any student who is on the Remote Learning Team can print an application by clicking here.  Completed applications should be returned to the main office by Friday, April 16.  Only students on the Remote Learning Team can email completed applications to Mr. Atkins at [email protected]. 

Student Council Spirit Week, 3/22 - 3/26

Ohio State Tests
The Ohio State Tests will be administered this spring to our students. All students in grades 5 through 8 will take the ELA assessment between March 30 and April 27. Additionally, all students will take the math assessment between April 21 and May 11.  Only students in grade 5 and grade 8 will take the science assessment.  That testing window is the same as the math window. Students and families will receive more information from their teachers/teams regarding the specific dates of their tests in the near future.

Fees
School fees for the 2020/2021 school year are set.  Families can pay with check, money order, or online using PayForIt.net.  School fee information and PayForIt.net instructions are linked below.

Pictures/Yearbooks
Yearbooks for the 2020/2021 school year can be ordered by clicking here and using code 55266W.  The cost of this year's yearbook is $22.00 and must be ordered by March 31.  Any yearbook that is ordered between March 31 and April 2 will cost $26.00.
