CARVER VOICES - NOVEMBER 2020
FEEDING OUR COMMUNITY
Our Carver Teens are making a difference in our community!
Pictured above is Miss Carver, Kay-Sian Findley and Taylor Martin. They helped organize a Pop-Up Carver Market at the Port Chester train station with our logistics coordinator, Mike Williams.
More than 90 meals were distributed to local residents.
CARVER CENTER WELCOMES
THREE NEW MEMBERS
TO THEIR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Carver Center is pleased to announce the appointment of
John Callaghan, Alisa Holland and Sue DeStaebler to their
Board of Directors. All three exceptional individuals bring their unique backgrounds and diverse experiences to the Board and
to the organization as a whole.
CARVER MARKET BY THE NUMBERS
Carver Market distributed emergency food relief to
38,751 individuals in 10,396 households
from March through October.

We are offering healthy food options and individual meals to families on Market days. We couldn't do this important work without the help of our community partners, Caritas and Feeding Westchester.

WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS.
Please see the attached Wish List for suggestions.

Contact our front desk team for more information.

CHILDREN'S HOPE CHEST DONATES COATS
While our Children's Hope Chest annual event looked a little
different this year, we are grateful for their donation of 150 new winter coats and gloves that they provided for our
Port Chester children.
The weather cooperated for Team Carver to distribute coats
and individual "to go" meals that were prepared by our
food service team.
FRIENDS FROM IMPACT100
Thank you to our friends from Impact 100,
JoAnne Salzarulo, Amy Barest and May Lee
for helping us at one of our weekday distributions.

Impact100 Westchester is a women's collective giving organization that engages women in philanthropy. During their seventh grant cycle, which Carver Center was a recipient,
$358,000 was awarded to Westchester nonprofits.

VOLUNTEERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Vicki Kyriakos, a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society
of New Rochelle, delivered a donation of diapers to the
Carver Center. A group of volunteers from the organization will be here on November 30 to help in our Carver Market.
Vicki is pictured above with our Welcome Center and
Front Desk Coordinator, Angie Diaz.
