Construction has begun to replace the eastbound and westbound bridges on Platte Avenue over Sand Creek between Wooten Road and the Powers Boulevard Interchange to improve safety.

The Platte Avenue over Sand Creek project will be installing new girders March 24 - 26 as part of the bridge replacement, weather and resource dependent. To lessen traffic impacts, the installation is scheduled to happen overnight, with traffic being detoured each night of the installation, 8 p.m. through 5 a.m.

Eastbound traffic (including bicyclists and pedestrians) on Platte Avenue will be detoured each night March 24 - 26 for overnight construction activities, resource and weather dependent.

Eastbound traffic (including bicyclists and pedestrians) on Platte Avenue will detour at Wooten Road north to Galley Road, then east on Galley Road to the Powers Interchange.
The eastbound lanes of Platte Avenue will remain in a one-lane configuration through May, weather and resource dependent. Expect traffic impacts and delays. Motorists are strongly advised to take alternate routes when possible. All business accesses will remain open throughout construction.
