As educators, we understand that by providing good quality feedback to our students, we help them improve their practice and gain confidence to continue learning. We appreciate the value of providing and receiving feedback and implement it into our day-to-day teaching practices.

As faculty, we also learn from detailed feedback from our students and colleagues. The goal of the College's teaching evaluation model is to provide opportunities for reflective practice as a community of teachers.

Here are some ways you can help us to understand what additional teaching supports and professional development opportunities are needed:

  • Student Course Evaluations – Take the time to remind students to complete Course Evaluations; Review online after the term ends to enhance teaching and curriculum as appropriate.
  • Annual Reflective Teaching Analysis – Complete the annual Reflective Teaching Analysis to explore current teaching practices and spark future growth ideas!
  • Peer Review -Explore feedback from GSC’s peer review process, if applicable (every two years for all full-time faculty; adjuncts who teach four or more courses per year)
  • Course Design – Evaluate your course design based on feedback. Are there areas in which improvements can be made for better academic engagement and student success? Need help? Our Instructional Design Team can help!
