MINISTER'S MESSAGE
Beloveds,

Ooh, the winter holidays! I love them. I love them all! I love the quiet of Solstice Night. I love the anticipation of Advent, the joy of Christmas morning and the renewed energy of New Year’s. I love how hope is uplifted in all of these – each representing in some way how the Light continues to work in the world, especially when things seem their darkest.

This year, our holidays might not look like the happy chaos we are used to. All those years of complaining about commercialism and being too busy have now borne fruit. We have an opportunity to have a quiet set of holidays, a more contemplative season in which to have deep and juicy conversations. We can still connect with each other, even if it’s by writing letters and snail-mailing them or chatting over the internet. We could spend more time looking at our decorations and appreciating them, rather than feeling pressured to put them up and then take them down.

The theme we are working with in December is “Celebrating the Divine Truth.” This past year has certainly given us a workout in standing in Truth! Our Divine Truth is wholeness, not a virus. Our Divine Truth is Unity and Oneness without having to be identical. Our Divine Truth is wrapped up in our ability to create healing and change conditions by the power of the One Mind. It is not and has never been helplessness, no matter how much that might have felt true for people this year. The Truth is that even when things are cold outside and the ground is frozen hard, there are seeds we have planted that are growing. The power we have is to see through conditions to the Truth and remain peaceful amid apparent chaos. Our Truth is that we are wrapped in and indwelt by an Infinite Love and that doesn’t ever change.

Board Report
Hello and Blessings to all.

The end of 2020 is rapidly approaching. I know that this year has been difficult. For many, it has been devastating. For all of us it has been like no other. Our country and world have had many difficult times with plagues, wars, the depression, etc. But for all of us this has probably been the worst times we have had to endure. But let us pause for a moment and try and find some things in our life that we can be grateful for.

Some silver linings are that our air quality has improved and the waters in Venice are clear for the first time in years and fish are now visible. Closer to home, our Center was concerned about re-paving the parking lot, parking, moving venues, etc. However, due to COVID, we were closed, which allowed us to stream our sermons. It also allowed me to let Dr. Askari complete his hospital grounds first instead of our Centers’ as was originally agreed upon. So far, he has reciprocated by paying some of the construction costs that may have been ours. The other day, Andy and I met at the Center and tested our internet. Even though we do not have enough bandwidth to transmit a sermon, we do have enough to receive. So instead of giving up on our situation with the internet, we found a way to bring services into the sanctuary. Once this uptick in COVID subsides, we will be discussing this.

Sandy and I have found new ways to enjoy each other. We have a happy hour, were we play games and eat appetizers. We read uplifting books or articles and stay away from news and the internet. So, what are you doing that can create your silver lining? What are you avoiding? What positives have come from this time? What do you have to be grateful for?  For all of us, we do have choices. We must guard the gates to our mind, our perception. Ernest Holmes states “Gratitude is one of the chief graces of human existence.”

In Gratitude and Blessing to All,
Tom Kimmerle (Board President)
SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT
YOU ARE THE GIFT
Karen Rader, RScP
What a year 2020 has been! And not over yet, so why not embrace this wondrous season as the most magical and beautiful ever, just different. In the Interfaith Calendar there are 14 spiritual holidays in December. We may be more familiar with Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa and Winter Solstice; however, there are others celebrated by faith based groups. In our tradition we honor and respect all.

One Christian holy day I was not familiar with is “Watch Night,” December 31. This is a time to thank God for the safety we have received during the year. It sounded very appropriate to me for this 2020 year, so I share with you. Lets appreciate and share the Christ light. Whatever we traditionally celebrate, we can know that Spirit as Divine Truth is forever expanding and revealing within us, as well as others. We are divinely supported in all times and in all situations, even when we forget.

There is so much to be grateful for in every day, in every moment. To pause in Gratitude on the last day of the year is a joyous invitation. Let us count our blessings.

“Make a gift of your life
and lift all…by being
kind, considerate,
forgiving, and
compassionate at all
times, in all
conditions, with
everyone as well as
yourself. This is the
greatest gift anyone
can give.”

                            - David R. Hawkins

We can pay forward the Divine gifts of God. We are privileged to be giver and receiver without separation. Thank you for remembering you are not ordinary, but a holy gift in this world

Karen Rader, RscP

GET SUPPORT FROM THE HEART CONNECTION
During this strange time in which so many people are feeling stress, the Heart Connection continues to connect with those in our CSLP family. We are sending cards, writing emails, and making telephone calls. There have been car parades in Prescott Valley and Prescott with CSLP members parading by sequestered folks' homes, honking their horns, waving, yelling hello, and having encouraging, loving signs on their cars. This certainly brightened the day for those recipients! We are encouraging people to reach out to our wonderful Practitioners and to call us in the Heart Connection for any needs. We are keeping our CSLP family in our prayers and are all looking forward to the day when our Center opens again. Love and Blessings to all!

"The Kingdom of Heaven is that place within ourselves where there is universal and individual peace at all times, peace that holds no doubt of our abiding good and wise, divine protection. VISITATION MINISTRY
The month of October, 2020 continued to present challenges to the Visitation team. During the month, due to social distancing, closing of Retirement homes and hospitals to visitors, the team relied on telephone calls to make visits. During the month of October 2020, eight (8) team members reported visiting (actual or Telephone) 30 separate individuals during the month; A total of 69 visits were made. One (1) team member reported making a food drop to one (1) individual. In addition, one (1) team reported participating in one (1) Virtual Prayer Circle for an individual undergoing a medical procedure.

Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator, David Sharer RScP at (928) 771 2791. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you.

Love & Light,
David Sharer, RScP

ERNEST HOLMES QUOTES

"Christmas is for remembrance. The love manifest through our gifts to each other typifies the offering of Life, the givingness of Spirit to Its creation. The hands of the Eternal are outstretched through our hands and the heart of the Infinite beats in the human breast. But the giver must give of himself for, ‘The gift without the giver is bare.’ It is not enough to give money to a great cause. Only those [who] understand giving, give of themselves withholding nothing."

Ernest Holmes
