No place like home for the holidays
You met Laura and her children earlier this month when we shared their story with you. This Christmas Eve, Laura's children are safe and sound in their new home, celebrating Christmas with their very own tree. Together, we have brought hundreds of individuals and families with children home for the holidays.

May we please ask you to make a donation to our 2020 Annual Appeal if you have not already done so? Every gift counts toward ending homelessness in our communities. You may make your gift here.
Please join us in welcoming Janie Cundiff to our staff as a Case Aide. Janie, a long-time BEDS volunteer and familiar face at the Ogden Avenue Supportive Housing facility front desk, is now a paid staff member through the Chicago-Cook workforce grant. She has a true passion for helping others and is often sought out by clients at BEDS.

Janie has worked as a client advocate, a specialized role that provides one-on-one attention to clients, and also has served as an Ignatius Volunteer Corps volunteer. As a Case Aide, Janie will be working even more closely with clients at BEDS. She helps clients run errands and delivers food as well as other needed items.

"I love it," she said. " I realized that the clients are people just like me. They are exactly like me."
Soup's on Sunday! Mmm, mmm, delicious! Every week, we are sharing a new soup recipe until our virtual Soup & Bread Event on Jan. 31. Click here for the recipes.

You can help BEDS help those experiencing homelessness by supporting our virtual Soup & Bread event. Consider forming a Crowdfunding team. Work together to raise $1,000 to provide one month of apartment-based shelter for one homeless family. Raise $500 to provide one week of motel-based shelter.
