Dear friend,
Cancer first touched my life over 40 years ago, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and later passed away from metastatic melanoma. Just 20 years later I faced my own cancer diagnosis, and as a cancer survivor myself I fully understand the expression “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” I know we have to do better because I’ve experienced the harsh side effects of cancer treatments, and it’s why I am determined to find less invasive treatment options with fewer side effects.
Next Tuesday, November 30, 2021, is Giving Tuesday, an annual global day of giving that unleashes the power of people to transform the world by uplifting their favorite charities. I believe cancer patients deserve better treatment options and better outcomes, and you can fund life-saving research that will transform fear into hope. Are you with me?
Please save the date and support my CARES Foundation next week. Our goal is to raise $20,000, including a generous match of $10,000 from an anonymous donor. By coming together and honoring our loved ones, we will turn the future of cancer care upside down.
Not all battles are won, and it’s the battles lost that stay with us forever. I won mine, but my mom lost hers. I fight every day to honor my mother and the millions of people that have succumbed to cancer by funding innovative and impactful research.
Cancer is one of the biggest challenges we continue to face, and improving treatment and survivorship requires an extraordinary commitment. Thank you for joining me in my mission to fund less invasive treatments and provide hope to those living with cancer.
Onward and upward,
