FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE SHREVEPORT SYMPHONY'S MARCH 12 GALA EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

WHO: Shreveport Symphony Orchestra
WHEN: Thursday, March 12, 2020
WHERE: Riverdome at Horseshoe Casino & Hotel
WHAT: After multiple conversations, and in response to significant concerns expressed by various constituents, we regret to inform the public that we will not be holding the Gala event this evening as originally planned. The Gala is a key fundraising event for the SSO, but our primary goal is always for attendees to have a safe and fun evening with us.

Based on the information provided by the Governor's Office, the Louisiana Department of Health, and the CDC, we ultimately were not certain that the contingency measures that we had in place could provide a completely safe environment for our wonderful friends, patrons and donors at the event.

The planning committee will convene in the coming days to discuss next steps. We thank all of our supporters for their understanding and patience at this time. We urge everyone to be safe.
