INTERN SPOTLIGHT
This month Peace Learning Center would like to spotlight Anna Ward as our intern.
Anna is a Human Services student at Ivy Tech Community College and has lived in Indianapolis for just over three years. After living in five states, she's so glad to call this wonderful city home! Anna chose Peace Learning Center as her internship site this semester because of the focus on restorative justice and equity, and the commitment to bring these concepts into schools in the Indianapolis area. Anna says, "Expanding my knowledge of these concepts as well as the area of anti-racism are my biggest goals for my internship." She has worked with children for years and looks forward to the opportunity to co-facilitate workshops in local schools. After she graduates from Ivy Tech, she has been accepted to IUPUI and plans to complete a Bachelors in Social Work. Her goal is to receive a Masters in Counseling.

RESTORATIVE PRACTICE IMPLEMENTATION, January 27
Once you understand Restorative Practices mindset and the tangible skills, its time to figure out how the rubber meets the road. This training allows you to explore how you can begin implementing restorative practices in your school or organization. We will share sample discipline flow charts, lessons learned, and will give you time and space to reflect on where your school or organization is right now and how best to get things moving.
Restorative Practices Level 1 Training offers relationship-focused solutions with useful and effective frameworks for communication, behavior, and discipline in environments that have undergone destructive harm. No matter their skill set or role, attendees will leave with a clear understanding of what Restorative Practices are and tangible tools and processes to begin implementing the strategies to repair communities.
Restorative Practices Level 2 Training opens the conversation for attendees to discuss and improve upon their work in restoring communities that have undergone destructive harm. Attendees will gain clarity and confidence to take on restorative circles and conferencing. The training will walk through real-life examples and role-playing opportunities for attendees to solidify their learning, shift their skills in proactive restorative basics to be able to facilitate challenging and difficult conversations that create lasting change by repairing broken relationships.
