A Message From Pastor Wright

God blesses our lives through strong women of faith.

I thank God for the strong, spiritual women He placed in my life.
I am grateful for my wife, my mother, my 2 grandmothers and many aunts. Many have already departed this world and are with the Lord. All were godly women that sowed the seed of God’s Word into my heart. It is in large part because of these women that I am who I am. God used them to impact and shape my life. My grandma Wright (pictured) had a bigger influence on my life than probably any other person. She was a woman filled with God.

Mothers and grandmothers, please do not underestimate the power you have to impact your children and grandchildren. Pray for them daily and speak God’s Word into their lives.

Mother’s Day is a special time to honor our moms and show them appreciation we feel for them. If your mother is still in this world, make sure you show her your love and gratitude.
- Pastor Mark Wright
Mother’s Day, Sunday May 8th
Bring the whole family to celebrate Mom. We're having a special service on Sunday May 8th to honor our mothers and grandmothers. We love our mothers. Don’t miss it!
Youth Ministry Intern
Jonathan Valadez

We are pleased to announce that starting May 1st Jonathan Valadez will be our youth ministry Intern. He will work under the supervision of Pastor Wright and the elders. Pastor Wright will mentor this young man and train him to serve effectively. Under Pastor Wright's guidance, Jonathan will lead all the youth activities during the summer, including Vacation Bible School (VBS). Jonathan will also oversee Wee Church, Junior Church and youth Sunday School classes.

Jonathan is a sophomore at Bethel college majoring in Education and has worked in the “Youth-For-Christ” ministry since 2020. He's a native Texan, he's perfectly bilingual--fluent in English and Spanish, and he'll turn 21 in August. One of the most impressive things about Jonathan is his personality. He is kind and very personable. Interestingly enough, Pastor Wright was exactly the same age when he started his first Youth Ministry in Topeka, Kansas.
Neighborhood Outreach Leading Up To Mother’s Day

We will be knocking on doors to invite our neighbors to ERCC on Thursday, May 5th and on Friday, May 6th, from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm. If you wish to participate, please meet at the church at 5:45 pm. We are targeting single-family homes nearby ERCC. We are developing a special door hanger for the occasion.

Mother’s Day is one of the Sundays during the year when churches see the highest attendance. We hope to reach some families that want to get back church and back to the Lord.

Sermon Series

Grasping a biblical understanding of the grace of God will radically change your life. Grace gives us confidence in the presence of God. Grace gives us the assurance of our salvation. Grace emancipates us from false religion and legalism. Grace gives us the mindset to live a life of holiness.

The series is entitled “God’s Amazing Grace” and begins on Sunday, May 15th.
After-Church Potluck
May 22nd
Immediately after our 10 am worship service we will be enjoying a Potluck Lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring an entrée or a side dish. We'll share everything and enjoy a yummy meal with our church family.
Youth Night -- Pizza!
May 22nd
The entire family is invited to join us and have pizza on Sunday, May 22nd at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. After the pizza, there will be special activities and a lesson geared for the kids.
Movie Night
Join us on Sunday, May 29th at 6 pm in the auditorium. We will be showing a Christian movie entitled “Tortured for Christ”, the story of Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand, and a production of Voice of the Martyrs.
Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand were persecuted for their Christian witness under Communist oppression in Romania, yet they emerged with a testimony of love and forgiveness toward their enemies and sought to win them for Christ. Watch their true story in the inspiring new film, Tortured for Christ — The Movie. Filmed entirely in Romania, including the very prison where Richard Wurmbrand endured torture and solitary confinement, their powerful story is told in English, Romanian and Russian (with English subtitles) to hold to the authenticity of their story.
Neighborhood Canvassing

Praise God! We met and exceeded our goal of knocking on at least 250 doors to invite our neighbors to ERCC before Easter Sunday. Pictured are Millie Borelli and Michael Mas inviting a family to ERCC. The final count was well over 300 families invited to ERCC, and some have already responded and attended worship with us.
Please pray for those who received the invitation.
We have two adult classes that meet at 9 am on Sunday mornings.
Millie’s Borelli's class is for women of all ages. The class meets in a fellowship hall classroom. She will be starting a new series on May 8th entitled Overcoming Life's Pitfalls to Live a Christ-Centered Life.
Marshall Pierce's adult class is comprised of both men and women. They meet in a classroom on the first floor of the Educational Building. The current study is on the book of Acts.
We thank our teachers for their faithful service and their ministry of the Word!
Thank You to Cynthia Haoson

Praise God For 3 New Roofs!
We have a brand-new roof with 30-year shingles on each of our three main buildings. The church’s insurance covered the entire cost.
God provides and we give thanks!
Chaplaincy Endorsement Commission (CEC)

ERCC provides regular support to the CEC. The Armed Services and civilian agencies that employ chaplains require the endorsement of their church denomination to serve as a Chaplain. Christian Churches and Churches of Christ are not part of a denomination with a hierarchy that can fulfill that role, so the Chaplaincy Endorsement Commission provides it for us. The CEC ensures that ministers of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ continue to serve with distinction among our nation’s chaplains, so that our faith group can extend its ministry to military personnel.

~ Hebrews 4:16 ~
QUOTE
OF THE MONTH
"When Christ delays to help His saints now, you think this is a great mystery, you cannot explain it; but Jesus sees the end from the beginning. Be still, and know that Christ is God.”
