Dear HBAGTA Members,

I am excited to welcome our newly appointed Executive Officer, Lauren Tucker. Lauren brings an impressive resume that includes previous experience in the construction industry, non-profit sector, sales experience, grant writing skills, a record of networking with other industries, and a great attitude. We look forward to Lauren’s guidance as we move ahead to promote work force development, attainable housing challenges, education, and the many issues that face our industry such as inflation and supply chain disruptions. 

Lauren comes to the HBA on the heels of our Home Expo and the Foundation Golf Challenge. Both events were very well attended. Thank all of you for your help and participation in these events. Golf Challenge Recap!

Site Planning, Approvals & Construction Class

Take the next step to becoming a small volume land developer by exploring actual site planning and preliminary platting. In this course, you will learn about the final platting process through a governing authority. We will also discuss construction of improvements and getting the property ready to sell or develop. The level of content in this course is for individuals new to the land development process.

This class takes place via Zoom in real time, where you will be able to interact with your instructor and fellow industry professionals from across the country.

MIOSHA 10-Hr. Construction Safety Class

This 10-hour program presents an overview of MIOSHA regulations for the construction industry. Detailed information is presented to enable the participant to develop an accident prevention plan.  An overview of MIOSHA inspection procedures is presented, as well as the most frequently cited MIOSHA violations in the construction industry. Participants gain detailed information regarding construction and health standards relative to our industry. Students will receive both MIOSHA and OSHA 10-hour cards upon successful completion of the class.

MIOSHA Scholarships are available! The only requirement is to apply!

New Home Sales Down on Rising Interest Rates, Declining Affordability
