Good morning,

Based on the press conference last night from Governor Newsom requesting that large gatherings of over 250 people be canceled or postponed, we are postponing Exhibition Night this evening. Colly and I have talked with all of the teachers and they will be in contact soon about how each grade level will move forward. It will make sense for some grade levels to reschedule for after break and some grade levels will cancel, so be on the lookout for specific emails from your child’s teacher in the coming days.

We will move forward with our Friday version of  “Wonder Wednesday” tomorrow and look forward to a great day with students on campus! Additionally, we are in direct contact with Butte County Public Health, Butte County Office of Education, and Chico Unified. At this time, school is scheduled to continue as it is on the calendar, resuming with students on March 24th after Spring Break. We do not anticipate school closures, but we will also follow the guidelines of Public Health and the Governor, as this is a very fluid situation.

Thank you all for your support and understanding. We don’t come by these decisions easily, particularly after being on campus and seeing all of the work that students have put into their exhibitions for this evening. We do feel it would be negligent of us to disregard the governor’s recommendation and appreciate your support in this decision. We will be supporting teachers in their efforts to gather as much video as possible of student work today and look forward to sharing our Digital Exhibition with families.

Best Regards,
Wendy
