Ten Reasons I Love Being An Episcopalian

Sunday mornings during the season of Epiphany  9:30 – 10:15 a.m. in the meeting room.

This six week course is for you if you:
1.      Are Roman Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian or any other kind of Christian
2.      Are new to the Episcopal Church and wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into
3.      Would like to learn why we do what we do as we do it.
4.      Might enjoy getting to know a few more people in your parish.

Fr. Mulder will be leading these sessions, but there will also be lots of discussion. So bring your cup of coffee and join us. You’ll be glad if you do.

PS – Even if you can’t get to all of the sessions, come when you can - You'll be glad!

 GATHERING THE CLAN
(otherwise known as the Annual Meeting)

Sunday, January 19, immediately following the
10:30 Mass.

Chef Howard promises chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes, along with egg dishes and other delectables! Brunch will be served!

This meeting is important because it helps us review the last year with gratitude, and unites us as we move forward together in the new year.

We will:
Elect new members to our Vestry, and thank those who have served.
Receive the reports of all the activities of the past year.
Hear where we are financially for our 2020 budget (how we carry out ministry)
Learn more about our search for our next rector. What is our timeline?

Communities of faith count on people who care enough to show up, stand up, help out, reach out and celebrate in the name of the Lord! Come, let’s be St. Martin’s together!

What a wonderful Christmas it was! Thanks to all the angels, shepherds, singers, altar guild, eucharistic ministers, ushers, greeters, decorators, and everyone who came to celebrate Christ's birth! We had joy at the manger!

PLEDGE UPDATE

We want to thank all those who have pledged their financial support for 2020 to the shared ministry that is our church. As of today, one out of two St. Martin's households have already made a spiritual and financial commitment for 2020. Next week our Vestry will vote on a budget for the year to determine what we will do as a parish. It is both the joy and commitment of membership to support one’s parish financially, as well as in other ways. If you have not already pledged, please take a moment and email us at  stmartinschurchnj@gmail.com. It’s that easy.

Also, in this transition year, the report we are required to submit to the diocese in March must include an accurate account of our current active membership. Membership is defined by the canons of the Episcopal Church as being regular in worship and financially supporting the parish. Anyone not pledging will not be able to be included as a member of St. Martin’s and this will have an impact on our calling our next rector. So please, be a part of this wonderful community of faith. Every pledge matters. You matter!
