Lake Superior State University celebrated 387 new graduates along with their families and friends at the 60th annual commencement held on May 7, 2022. The Lake State students earned 522 degrees across the disciplines: 347 bachelor’s degrees, 159 associate degrees, and 16 certificates in fisheries and wildlife management, engineering, robotics engineering, nursing, criminal justice, business, fire science, and kinesiology, plus many other fields.
Keynote speaker U.S. Sen. Gary Peters of Michigan called LSSU a “world-class institution” that prepares graduates for “in-demand and forward-looking jobs,” he said. Urging graduates to become leaders of tomorrow in the workforce and in the community, he observed, “Your new journey begins today.” Read more.

Registration Open for Camp LSSU
Camp LSSU 2022 offers an array of summer camps at Lake Superior State University and the surrounding area throughout June and July 2022 for primary and secondary schoolchildren. Activities will range for each camp and may include conducting experiments in LSSU’s state-of-the-art science labs, wading in Lake Superior to examine macroinvertebrates, or eating s’mores in front of a roaring fire.

Lake Superior State sophomore thrower Jenna Fleming has qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's & Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Allendale, Michigan at Grand Valley State University on May 26-28. Read more.

The Lakers men's and women's track teams traveled to Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI last weekend to take part in the 2022 GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Both teams had strong showings in both the running events and the field events. Read more.

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) announced its 104-game conference schedule earlier this month. All eight CCHA teams will play a 26-game conference slate with the regular season champion being awarded the prestigious MacNaughton Cup, recognized as the premiere conference trophy in collegiate hockey. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will go back to support our students at Lake Superior State University. This popular event usually sells out, so order your tickets early.
