Westlake Skate Park Mural Program

In partnership with the local skate community, the City sought out artists to transform the Westlake Skate Park into a colorful artistic space that enhances the park amenities, improve the artistic experience for users and encourages a more inclusive environment. These murals are redesigned annually to bring fresh designs to the skate parks.

Artist applications were accepted throughout the month of March and the local skate community chose 17 artists to paint a total of 23 available spaces at Westlake Skate Park.   The work was completed the week of April 25.  Everyone is invited to go see the new art at the Westlake Skate park!

River Park Revegetation

River Park ReVeg1.jpeg

Due to the immense popularity of the River Park area of Las Colonias, revegetation to reduce erosion and improve the landscape has begun.  The seed blend that was chosen consists of species native to the valley and to the riparian area that we are attempting to restore. The final phase of seeding is scheduled for the fall of this year.
