In 1992, filmmaker, Roger Hagopian recorded the story of his father, Hurire, born in Ottoman Turkey, and a survivor of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. 30 years later this documentary film blends that oral history within the context of the events of leading up to the genocide and expulsion of the Armenians, life in the refugee camps, the rise and fall of the small Armenian Republic to the Soviet Union, and the Hagopian family's arrival at Ellis Island, New York Harbor, and Watertown, Massachusetts. Join Roger Hagopian for a screening and discussion of his film.
