Robin Noah, who was a member of SCORE Orange County, retired in June 2020 and entered Emeritus status. She served with SCORE for just under 20 years - August 2000 through June 2020 - and was widely beloved by both volunteers and clients.
Robin joined the Orange County Chapter in 2000 and, like most volunteers, quickly found her calling and her passion.
She took over all the chapter's administrative duties in addition to coaching new volunteers and training them as mentors.
The Orange County Chapter ran smoothly with Robin's knowledgeable and dedicated personality. No matter the question asked, she always had an answer and a great desire to help.
Jim Chamberlain says:
"
She will really be missed by all of us who have known her. I joined SCORE about two years after she became a member. She was my informal mentor in that whatever I needed, whatever question I had, Robin was there to help. She kept an informal eye on all of us new members. Robin knew what workshops we attended, how many times we trained as mentors, and made sure that we were progressing per the training schedule. I had been assigned a different trainer, but Robin always seemed to be the most important member to guide our progress. She was always at our Santa Ana office helping with administrative duties and organizing our schedules.
As a mentor, Robin was always there to help whenever I needed an HR expert. I moved many clients over to her including one that was very difficult. This client was mentored by us for years and having Robin as part of the team was most reassuring. Robin kept her out of litigation as I helped her sell the business.
SCORE won’t be the same without her. Her organization and people skills will surely be missed by members and clients alike."
Terri Carr says:
"
Robin joined SCORE shortly before I did. The best thing I could say about Robin is that anytime I asked her a question, Robin always had the answer and in many cases would help make it happen.
Bill Morland, Alan Simon, Jim Chamberlain, Jim Anderson and I joined SCORE on the same day and Robin helped train us 18 years ago! We were always lucky to have her to help us do everything we needed to do!
There never seemed to be a question that I could ask her that she did not know the perfect answer! I also managed the Holiday party for several years and once again she was always a very big help!"
Lorraine Wardy, Chapter Chair:
"When I first joined SCORE in 2015, Robin was my interviewer and my trainer. She has a wealth of information at her fingertips, invaluable to me as an incoming Chair and always knew what to do and how to handle any situation. She was a pleasure to work with and will be sorely missed the members of the Chapter. Robin has moved to Wyoming to be with family and we wish her a very happy and well-deserved retirement and tremendous gratitude for her many years of service and dedication."
