2022 Texas Foundations Fund Application Now Available
Deadline to Submit: May 20th

The 2022 Texas Foundations Fund application is now open. Through the Texas Foundations Fund, TSAHC supports nonprofit housing programs that assist very low-income households in Texas.

For the upcoming funding round, the Texas Foundations Fund will provide grants to support nonprofit partners providing critical home repairs or supportive housing services, including housing counseling services

Organizations interested in becoming a nonprofit partner should read the 2022 Texas Foundations Fund Guidelines and FAQ, and watch the informational webinar. Then, access the online application here.

Returning applicants should hit the green "Apply" button while new applicants should click on the green "Register" button to create an account. Once your email is verified, click on the green "Programs" button to access the 2022 application and then hit "Apply." You will first be required to take an eligibility quiz which, if passed, will then reveal the remaining application tasks. The application is due by 5:00 pm CDT on Friday, May 20, 2022

The coursework is provided free of charge.

Five years ago, Donald Strayer thought he'd bought a dream home for his extended family. It was on a pretty spot in Ohio's Appalachian mountain foothills, with room for him and his wife, his daughter's family, plus their horses and goats. And he could actually afford it.

Strayer had been turned down for a bank loan because of bad credit — he says it's because of hospital bills years ago. The 58-year-old former forklift driver has a chronic lung disease and lives off disability. Instead of a regular mortgage, he signed what's known as a land contract directly with the seller.

Each quarter, we issue a Homeownership Program Index (HPI) report that examines data from our DOWN PAYMENT RESOURCE® database to uncover noteworthy changes and trends in U.S. homebuyer assistance programs.

Our Q1 2022 HPI report revealed a 2.1% uptick in the number of homebuyer assistance programs available to help people finance homes, bringing the total number of programs available to 2,238, a net increase of 46 programs over the previous quarter. Of these programs, 84.9% had funds available for eligible homebuyers as of April 1, 2022, a 1% increase.
