Mason's premier golf scramble, the MACC Golf Classic is presented by Oracle Financial Solutions. This golf outing attracts many golfers each year. The outing runs on three 9-hole courses simultaneously and is a great opportunity for members, guests, and volunteers to network and conduct business in a relaxed, fun environment. Again, this year, a portion of the net proceeds of the MACC Golf Classic will benefit the MACC Agnes "Aggie" Corner Scholarship Fund for Community Volunteerism.

The 49th Annual MACC Golf Classic includes 18 holes of golf with cart, continental breakfast, lunch at-the-turn, golfer's "goodie bag", beer and wine on the course, pop and water, and door prizes. The event is $75 per golfer. Your registration will contribute to the MACC's fund balance allowing us to continue bringing free public events such as our Thursday Night Live Concert Series, Independence Day Parade, Holidays Light Parade, and Small Business Saturday "Cocoa on the Corner" to downtown Mason.

Registration is open now, so get those teams registered and come have a great day of golfing.
Congratulations to our 2022 MACC scholarship winners!! On Wednesday, May 18th we were honored to present both Matthew McGonigal and Natalia Pluff with the MACC Aggie Corner Scholarship. We were also honored to stand alongside Shirley Grieve's family as they presented the MACC Hometown Champion Scholarship in her honor. These scholarships are awarded to individuals exemplifying volunteer service in our local community.

Mason Public Schools Board of Education Member Honored by State Association Mason, MI – Mason Public Schools (MPS) Board of Education member, Patrick O’Connor has been honored by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) for his efforts to improve his leadership skills, demonstrating his commitment to student achievement and his own continuous improvement. Mr. O’Connor received both a Certified Board Member Award and an Award of Merit from MASB at the April 11 MPS Board Meeting. Awards are earned for classes completed in MASB’s leadership training program, as well as for conference attendance, years of service and leadership activities. This training and professional development helps board members keep pace with the fast-moving and complex changes in public education. Last year, more than 1,300 school board members statewide participated in MASB’s professional development program for elected school leaders. The hours devoted to this training are above and beyond the time members spend at their local meetings, events, and reviewing policies and board packets. “We are pleased to recognize the accomplishments of Patrick O’Connor and his commitment to helping Mason Public Schools continuously improve in the area of student achievement. Board members are vital in ensuring quality educational programs are available for all students,” said Ronald Drzewicki, Ed.S., Superintendent of Mason Public Schools. “I’ve worked with school boards and public schools for more than 19 years and am always in awe of the commitment of so many members,” said MASB Executive Director Don Wotruba, CAE. “Schools are under exceptional pressure to be innovative and reinvent the way they deliver education. Training equips them with the tools necessary to make the best decisions for Michigan’s schoolchildren. The time they spend being servant leaders and honing their skills is second to none.” 
WTC Students Advance to National Leadership Conference for SkillsUSA
Two Wilson Talent Center (WTC) students earned first-place gold at the SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference in April, advancing them to nationals.
· Rachel Pakenas (Williamston) took gold in the Criminal Justice category.
· Phil Stoll (LifeTech Academy) took gold in the Plumbing category.
These achievements allow them both to advance to the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference, June 20-24 in Atlanta, Georgia, to compete against students from other states.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. A non-profit national education association, SkillsUSA serves middle-school, high school and college/post-secondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. SkillsUSA serves more than 333,527 students and instructors annually.
While only gold medallion winners advance to nationals, several other WTC students placed in the top three in the state in a variety of categories, they include:
· Hannah Partridge (Williamston), Madalynn Zuke (Mason) and Adrianna Rector (Dansville), 2nd place silver, Crime Scene Investigation Team
· Ava Kuch (Fowlerville), Ann Neverdusky (Sexton) and Landon Kelly (Leslie), 3rd place bronze, Crime Scene Investigation Team
· Thu (Skye) Vo (Sexton), 2nd place silver, Nail Care
· Lilith Upton (Haslett), 2nd place silver, Plumbing
· Riley Kingsley (Webberville), 3rd place, Precision Machining
“We are incredibly proud of our students for representing the Wilson Talent Center so well at the SkillsUSA state leadership conference,” notes Jeff Smith, Associate Principal and SkillsUSA Advisor. “The dedication of these students and their instructors in preparing for competitions like SkillsUSA makes this such a rewarding experience for all of us,” Smith also noted.
