March Resilience Challenge
March 1 - March 31
Regular mindfulness practice has proven to lower stress, reduce burnout, increase creativity, and build resilience—in addition to improving your personal health and wellbeing. We are excited to announce that the Be Well at Work - Wellness program has partnered with Wisdom Labs for a month-long Resilience Challenge!
This March, UC Berkeley faculty and staff will have free access to the Wise@Work mindfulness app which provides a variety of guided meditation and learning sessions designed to teach work-focused mindfulness skills that will help you find some calm, balance and build resilience both personally and professionally.
How the Challenge Works:
-
Simply download the Wise@Work App from the App Store or Google Play
- Create an account using your work (@berkeley.edu) email address, and use it to practice mindfulness for a few minutes a day.
- Record at least 20 practices in March and you'll be eligible for prizes including gift cards and free subscriptions to the WIse@Work App!
- Watch for a pop-up on your app to officially join the Challenge!

Kim Guess, RD and Nicole Castillo
Engaging in creative activities (as part of, or outside of our work), allows us to be more productive, balanced, and calm in everyday life. Explore your creativity as you craft along with us! Creative activities can lower your blood pressure, decrease stress, improve your immune system, and increase your ability to be more productive. In this series, you will learn to create useful and unique items with simple supplies. Register early to receive the supply list so you can purchase any supplies you don’t already have. We highly recommend following along with us live so you can ask questions. We will also raffle off craft store gift cards after each session that you can use for the following session’s supplies!

Recipe of
the Month:
This soup is a great recipe to make in early spring when it’s still chilly but spring vegetables start to come into season. Make it extra special with the gremolata topping, or try croutons or savory granola.

Spring Veggies to Cook and Grow
Tue, Mar. 9 | 12:10-1pm
Instructor: Kim Guess, RD
Whether you grow them yourself or not, you’ll learn a few recipes using spring vegetables. We’ll also discuss how to grow these vegetables at home. Growing your own food, even if it’s just one or two plants in containers, may boost your sense of self sufficiency and in turn, self esteem. And if you don’t plan to start a vegetable garden, come learn the recipes anyway!
