How many times have you left a voicemail for someone expecting a call back... but it never came?

 

I'm not talking about telemarketing calls. I'm talking about you asking for someone to help; maybe even to buy something from their company.

 

This "no response" happens way too often today. It might be because people are overwhelmed - or that some people simply don't care if they help you or not. That's disturbing.

 

Our team at Capital feels that every chance to connect with a person is a chance to make a difference, even if we can't sell them something.

 

I'll give you an example. We had a voicemail from a guy who works in Hartford, Wisconsin. He had the task of locating a specialized welding service and found us through an online search because we sell welding cable. He knew we couldn't help him directly but thought we might be able to point him in the right direction. We called him back, even though we had no idea what he was talking about, listened to his situation and offered a local company we thought might be able to help him.

 

It took all of three or four minutes on our end, but he was thrilled with the call back and the help. Will he ever buy wire? It's doubtful. Did he appreciate the assist? You bet!
