Entrepreneurship Results - FY 2017-2020

The Iowa Lakes Corridor has proudly been sharing results from the last four fiscal years, FY 2017-2020.

For the next few weeks, we will be sharing more in-depth statistics from this four-year report. This week, we are focusing on Entrepreneurship.

Over the last four years, Senior Vice President Brian Dalziel supported the launch of 37 new businesses in the Corridor. Those businesses created 212 new jobs.

In all, Brian worked with 156 entrepreneurial clients. One hundred of those were new clients that he not assisted previously. Together they raised $4.36 million in startup capital.

The Corridor's four-year report is being sent to investors soon, so keep an eye on your mailbox!

Miller to moderate Iowa Rural Development Summit panel

Corridor President & CEO Kiley Miller will facilitate a panel discussion tomorrow for the virtual 4th Iowa Rural Summit. The panel includes business owners Bonnie Ramsey of Ramsey Grocery in Lenox and Sarah Winkelman of S&B Farms Distillery of Bancroft, as well as VP Brandon Rodriquez of Brownmed in Spirit Lake.

The 4th Iowa Rural Summit is happening today and tomorrow, hosted by the Iowa Rural Development Council. The summit includes a range of topics including small business efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emmet County named Gold County at AWEA awards

The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) recently recognized Emmet County as a Gold Seal recipient for being a leader in Wind Energy. Governor Kim Reynolds was also recognized by AWEA as the 2020 U.S. Wind Champion Award.

Ribbon cutting, dedication planned for the State Pier at Arnolds Park

The State Pier at Arnolds Park is finished according to an announcement made by Imagine Iowa Great Lakes. The celebration of this accomplishment including a ribbon cutting and formal dedication and renaming of the property in honor of the late Berkley Bedell, is scheduled for September 5th at 11:30 a.m.
