• First, you will complete an electronic form through Administrator’s Plus Online Forms that can be accessed from the email you receive on Friday. This step must be completed for each child you are enrolling.
  • Second, you must also complete a payment which includes registration and technology fees. The payment for these combined fees will be collected through the WeShare payment site.

The email you receive on Friday from Mark Rinaudo will have further instructions and links to the Administrator’s Plus Online Forms and the WeShare payment site. Both re-enrollment steps must be completed for full registration into next school year.

Also, if you are a current family registering a new student in any grade level, a new student registration packet can be found through the school website or in the school office. I strongly encourage all families to have new registrations complete before we open registration to new families on January 26.

God Bless,

Corey Stoops

Financial Assistance Available for GA Families

Guardian Angels School will begin accepting scholarships provided through the EdChoice Scholarship Program and the EdChoice Expansion Program for the 2020-2021 school year.

The EdChoice Scholarship Program  provides state-funded scholarships to students who live in neighborhoods for designated public schools (the designation includes specific schools, not entire districts). The state has expanded this list of designated schools to include several local public schools. Families who live in neighborhoods covered by these individual schools can apply for a $4,650 scholarship to use towards tuition at a private school (Guardian Angels).  It is important to note that this scholarship is only for incoming students who do not currently attend a private school.  However, incoming kindergarten students of current Guardian Angels school families (living in one of these designated public school areas) can apply for the scholarship.  Click here  for the complete list of designated public schools.

The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship  is an income-based program for families in grades KDG-6 who have an income at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Families of students currently enrolled at Guardian Angels can apply for this scholarship, unlike the traditional scholarship described above.

The priority application period for the EdChoice scholarships begins February 1 and concludes April 15  . Application forms/materials will be made available by the Ohio Department of Education at the end of January. We will make these available in the school office and also on our school website. Ahead of time, families of students intending to apply for the EdChoice scholarship must first be accepted to Guardian Angels School based upon our admission standards.

The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati  is currently accepting applications for 2020-2021 elementary school (K-8) tuition assistance grants. The Catholic Education Foundation tuition aid program became a reality for the 2017-2018 school year through the One Faith, One Hope, One Love Capital Campaign. Due to the generosity of local parishes, including ours, the Catholic Education Foundation will again be able to offer over $2,000,000 in financial aid! I strongly encourage families to apply for tuition assistance through the Catholic Education Foundation.  All families who plan to apply for financial assistance from Guardian Angels must first apply for assistance from this source.   The deadline to apply is January 31, 2020.  Last year, over $20,000 was given to Guardian Angels families from the Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Assistance Fund.

To learn more and apply, please visit the archdiocese's  tuition assistance page .

Open House & Catholic Schools Week

The Guardian Angels School Open House is scheduled for Sunday, January 26th  from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other GA families and teachers, talk with administrators and help us kick off Catholic Schools Week.

You can help us spread the word about Open House by sharing our Facebook event . We also have yard signs in the Gathering Space available to be picked up after all Masses this weekend. The signs are great way to advertise our Open House.

Open House kicks off Catholic Schools Week. For a complete list of the week's events at Guardian Angels School, click here.

There is no Extended Care after Penny Fair on Friday, January 31st.
K-5 Art Show is January 25 & 26

It’s only a few weeks until our wonderful K-5 Art Show, proudly held during Catholic Schools Week. Please mark your calendar now to attend and view your child’s two projects. The Art Show will be held in the Undercroft/Cafeteria on Saturday January 25th from 4:30-6:15pm and on Sunday January 26th between 9:00-3:00pm. On Monday, we’re excited to show off our works of art to our grandparents during their morning school visit!

Mrs. Pavely and students can use your help setting up and/or taking down the art show. Volunteers are needed on Friday, January 24th and Monday January 27th from 1:00-3:00pm. We also need volunteers during GA Catholic School Week Open House to help with purchased artwork. Even an hour of your time is very much appreciated! Please email Mrs. Pavely if you are able to help.
Preschool Registration Open for GA School & Parish Families

Preschool and pre-kindergarten registration and re-enrollment is open now  to current Guardian Angels School and Parish families. We absolutely expect all preschool and pre-kindergarten classes to fill again this year. There are only 9 open spots available for preschool and 4 for pre-k for the 20-21 school year. If there are spots available after this early enrollment period, we will open registration up to the community at our school Open House event on January 26th. At that point, spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Registration materials for new students are available on the preschool page of the school website. Re-enrollment information was shared with current families individually.

Cookie Ministry
Guardian Angels School Cookie Ministry teams up with the Parish Parish Peanut Butter group to feed families in need. The Peanut Butter group makes 1,500 peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. GA students donate cookies. St. Francis Seraph Church in Over-the-Rhine gives the food to families in need. Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. They do need to be bagged, two treats per bag. All kindergarten classes are responsible for the next donation on Tuesday, January 21st . A  complete schedule  for the school year is attached
Spirit Wear
PTA is offering a new spirit wear option this year. Just go to the online shopping site and choose what you like. There are many different options available. The winner must also be in good standing with VIRTUS. Examples of service opportunities and a list of the official rules for the challenge are listed on the PTA section of the website .

The scholarship prize is sponsored by PTA, Music Boosters & Athletic Boosters.
The winning family will be announced prior to the end of the school year.
Family Rosary

Box Tops Goes Digital This Year
Box Tops is going digital! The Guardian Angels PTA collects Box Tops and uses the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. This year, Box Tops is switching to a digital platform. To participate, you’ll need to download the Box Tops App. No more cutting labels off boxes! Instead, you’ll go into the Box Tops app and just scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase. You’ll find more information attached . You can also watch a quick video showing how the new digital platform works here.

Currently, you can still find old Box Tops labels on some products. GA students can still submit those paper Box Tops to their homeroom teachers and parishioners can drop them off in the special collection envelope located on the bulletin board in the Church Gathering Space. Those labels will be picked up again on March 1st . These physical labels are being phased out though so at some point the digital option will be the only way to submit Box Tops.
Kroger Community Rewards
Have you signed up for Kroger Community Rewards and designated GA as your beneficiary? The more families who register, the more money our school receives through the program. Kroger Community Rewards offers a great way for you to support our school's technology fund...and you don't have to spend a penny. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping.
Amazon Shopping Supports GA
During the holiday shopping season, remember you can now support Guardian Angels Parish when you shop at Amazon.com! GA is a participant in the AmazonSmile Program. You can  sign-up  to have a portion of your purchase sales come back to Guardian Angels. When you make purchases through the AmazonSmile page, and have GA selected as your beneficiary, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products back to GA.  You have to be shopping from smile.amazon.com page of the site for GA to receive the benefit.
