Following a deluge of nine inches of rain from Sunday through this morning, more than 100 households in Monroe sustained extensive flood damage, with 96 of them located within the Rossmoor adult living community.
In response, Monroe Mayor Stephen Dalina and Gov. Phil Murphy toured the site this morning and met with the victims of the remnants of Tropical Storm Henri. The governor arrived by 10 a.m., telling residents that he will declare a State of Emergency and seek state and federal funding to help.
