This Week at Mount Hope // June 23-28, 2020

Welcome to this week's edition of the LOOP.  In this email, you will find everything that's happening over the next few weeks within our Mount Hope Community.
SERMON SERIES // THESSALONIANS

In our life, no matter our circumstances, there will come a time as believers that our allegiance to Christ will conflict with the values around us.  How do we respond when this happens?  What promises can we hold onto when we come upon this crossroad?

As we continue our sermon series and study on the book of Thessalonians, we learn from Paul that even in times of persecution for our faith, God has promises for us to remember when we stay true to Jesus.

Join us on Sundays at 10am at mounthope.org/live If you missed the this week's service, please click here to watch it.

WHAT'S HAPPENING
AT MOUNT HOPE
MOUNT HOPE ONLINE

While we plan to begin meeting in-person for some of our ministries, we will continue to  take advantage of the wonderful technology available to us to foster community and to encourage one another. For most of our Online Ministry, we will be using the Zoom Video Communications as the primary tool to host our online gatherings.  For more details about the meetings, please visit our website
MOMS PRAYER GROUP

Prayer is a vital part of the body of Christ and and a vital part of the family unit.  Though we can't meet together as we normally would, it is important for us to still meet to pray over our families and children.  In fact, during this time of COVID-19, we are in much need of prayer over our families and our children.  Please join us via Zoom to pray together on Saturday, June 27 at 10am.

MOUNT HOPE KIDS ADVENTURE

Life certainly has looked different for our kids here at Mount Hope over these past few months.  As we head into summer and our schedules are a bit more relaxed, we still want to be sure to stay connected to our MHKA kids.  Below are some ways we would like to stay in touch even during this time of physical distance.  Also, please help us better serve you by filling out the survey below.  Thanks for the opportunity of ministering to your children and sharing truth with them!

Backyard Bash
We are so sad that we won't be able to host Kids Adventure Week this year, but we have come up with a wonderful alternative that we are excited about. Be on the look-out for more details about our Backyard Bash coming to a neighborhood near you!

Summer Zoom Sessions
We recognize that families are transitioning from the school year structure to a more relaxed summer schedule. However, we'd love to continue our Zoom sessions with the kids. While the lesson taught is valuable, we value the time we get to connect with one another even more. We know by connecting virtually each week, the transition back into our buildings will be that much easier for your kids. If you haven't already, please help us by completing this survey.
SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES
HELPING THE BELMONT COMMUNITY

The Belmont Massachusetts Parents Group Facebook page has found a way to help others during the COVID-19 crisis. Belmont mothers and co-moderators Amy Kirsch, Shana Wang, Kristi Armstrong, and Fitzie Cowing have recruited more than 100 volunteers from Belmont Massachusetts Helps Out to help deliver groceries and meals or pick up prescriptions for individuals in the Belmont and Watertown area who are unable to leave their homes because they are ill, quarantined or have young children.

If you would like to help, you may  sign up to Volunteer by clicking here. You may also help your Belmont community by  making a donation that will go toward helping those who are critically in need. Meanwhile, if you would like to stay updated on COVID-19 Crisis in Belmont, please  click here

HELPING THE BURLINGTON COMMUNITY

Burlington's  People Helping People is a nonprofit organization, and under its umbrella, the Burlington Food Pantry will be providing meals and assistance to the many families who are affected by the COVID-19 Crisis.

Burlington Public School are not meeting in their facilities currently, thus causing an interruption in the program that provides families with free and reduced lunches. This is where People Helping People will step in.  This week alone they will be providing groceries to 80+ families with the help of Volunteers and donations. Families with children will also receive a week's worth of breakfasts and lunches. They need your help to keep this program going.  If you would like to help  by volunteering or by making a donation please click here .

HELPING THE BOSTON COMMUNITY

In Metro Boston, the Chelsea and East Boston communities have been hardest hit with the coronavirus, and they have a large number of families that will not be able to benefit from the federal stimulus money. A significant need has been mentioned by serving organizations in those communities for items that most food pantries are not able to provide to families (such as diapers, baby formula, baby wipes, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and sanitary napkins). This campaign has been created to raise funds to purchase diapers, baby formula, and other needed items for families in Chelsea and Boston (particularly families identified by the cities and partnering churches and organizations).

If you would like to help, please donate to this fund by clicking here. You may also visit Emmanuel Gospel Center's website to learn more.

AVAILABLE RESOURCES
Our children are a gift from the Lord! As parents, we often need help along the way to raise children who glorify God and positively impact the world around them. As we come across resources and tools that we find helpful regarding parenting and/or family related topics, we like to share them with the parents in our community.
MARRIAGE
When we get married, we all hope to have a marriage that thrives and is full of joy. But as we experience life, we realize that this takes hard work and we often help from those who've "been there." Whether you're just starting out, have been married for a while and need some encouragement, or doing well in your marriage, this ministry is for you!
FINANCIAL
As a part of our ministry at Mount Hope, we offer budget planning and financial counseling services for those looking for wisdom and direction in that area. With our partnership with Beantown Money, these services are available to everyone in the Mount Hope Community at a reduced cost.
