A Message From Our Principal
|
Our focus is to provide each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. We want your child to be happy and successful at Turner Elementary, and you play a key role. That role is to continually show interest in, and to support, your child. A child who knows his or her family is interested in and supports school programs and staff, will almost always enjoy greater success, and will have fewer problems in school.
I continue to be inspired by the dedicated staff and families in this community, and look forward to getting to know our new team members. Turner Elementary is a school where students are supported and encouraged to grow in all areas- academically, socially and emotionally. I am fortunate to be a part of this high-quality learning community, and I speak on behalf of the entire staff when I say we are excited to have each of you as part of our school community. It takes a village to raise a child and more importantly, it takes a community to create that village. We look forward to you helping us to create that village!
Warm Regards, Dr. Darrell Webb

(NO EXCEPTIONS)
Our instructional day begins at 7:50 am daily. We have noticed a large number of students late each day. Please make a strong effort in having your child in class when the tardy bell rings at 7:55 am. We do understand traffic is backed up in the street some mornings, but each minute of instruction is critical to your child’s success. For example, if your child is 5 minutes late each day, that is equivalent to 25 minutes a week. Those 25 minutes accumulate to 225 minutes per nine weeks of lost instruction, which is 900 minutes of lost instruction per year. Over the course of a year, being 5 minutes late accumulates to missing 15 hours of instruction a year. Our students deserve every minute of quality instruction available. Please help us by making sure your child is here when instruction begins. Thank you
