Best Wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and a Successful New Year
A Message from our CPPA President.......

Dear CPPA Members,

As we set into the holiday season and prepare ourselves for what should be the most entertaining holiday cards of recent history, I believe this is a great time to reflect on the past year. Granted, 2020 has not been kind to many, it's important to notice how resilient our industry and our region is.

It has been a great honor to serve as the CPPA President for the past two years, I only wish we could have provided more of the fun and exciting in-person networking events that I believe CPPA has become known for. Sticking within the CDC guidelines and mitigating as many unnecessary risks as possible has been a challenge not soon forgotten, especially for live events. The Chesapeake Promotional Products Association has an incredible group of people serving on its board of directors and collectively, alongside our awesome executive director, Tiffany Kanak, we were still able to produce a phenomenal winter expo, 103 Webinars to date, we've held 13 virtual breakfast or lunch sessions, an outdoor / covered table top show in place of our traditional fall expo, a town hall and a few other social gatherings and happy hours via 2020's most useful tool, Zoom.

Our philanthropy committee's focus this year by membership vote was Platoon 22, a nonprofit association based in Frederick that raises awareness for the suicide epidemic facing our Warriors and First Responders, while providing empowerment through programming. CPPA cares was able to assist them by donating product to their largest annual fund raiser, their golf tournament. We also had several volunteers on site to help facilitate the event. We also helped raise funds for Platoon 22 through our participation at the Corn Maze at Winterbrook Farms. That event was a lot of fun and much needed. The CPPA cares organization for 2021 is currently out to vote by membership, so be sure to jump in and vote!

CPPA has several committees in place to help steer the association (Philanthropy, Tradeshows, Events, Membership) and would love to bring on new volunteers.  Please consider reaching out to Tiffany Kanak to let us know you're interested in helping out.

We are so grateful to Bob Titelman Jr for his leadership and board service as he retires from the board. As I step in to fill Bob's shoes in the immediate past president role, I turn the gavel over to a man in need of no introduction, Cliff Quicksell. We should all be very excited for what Cliff will be bringing to the table in 2021 and beyond. His career has landed him in executive roles in the supplier, distributor, and business service provider categories and with that experience brings an exceptionally well rounded mindset to lead our association to the next level.

I'm looking forward to what 2021 has in store, but for now... time to put on the Santa hat and drink some eggnog. Thank you!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Here's why having a powerful brand is more important than ever.

It's not enough to have a competitive advantage in the Covid-19 era. Marketing must adapt to the new normal, and crafting a strong and authentic brand helps with this process.

Brand-building is a long-term initiative that demands patience and persistence, but its benefits are worth the effort. The perks of brand-building are present in both internal and consumer-facing aspects of your business.

Pantone Names Its Colors Of The Year 2021,
Ultimate Gray And Illuminating

Pantone, the global color authority and provider of professional color language standards and digital solutions for the design community, has named PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, a yellow, as its Pantone Color of the Year selection for 2021, which it describes as conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting.

"The selection of two independent colors highlight how different elements come together to express a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting, conveying the idea that it's not about one color or one person, it's about more than one. The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit."  Read More
