SETU Presents Vijay Tendulkar’s Kamala: September 16 and 17
Stage Ensemble Theater Unit (SETU) will stage two shows of prominent Indian playwright Vijay Tendulkar’s play "Kamala," in English, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 16; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, at Belmont Town Hall Theater in Belmont, MA. Each presentation will also feature a skit of gossiping wedding invitees from different social strata, embedded with popular Bollywood songs and dances. IAGB is partnering with SETU to raise funds for Ekal, a non-profit organization that provides basic education for rural and tribal people in India.

Tendulkar highlights the plight of underprivileged rural and tribal people in India. In so doing, he blends urban sophistication and rural simplicity and draws parallels with the oppression that is prevalent across male-dominated Indian society.

SETU
SETU is a non-profit English theater group in the Boston area. It strives to build bridges between Indian and Western cultures through the medium of theater. It also attempts to highlight India's social, political and economic scenarios from the past and the present.
