The Friends Need You
We are approaching the holiday season; a time to think about helping others. This can take on a few different forms. The Friends of the Eldredge Public Library (FEPL) are always grateful for your love and support of our Library. Membership renewals and monetary donations are appreciated and welcome at all times.

Another way to help is to volunteer your time and expertise. The work FEPL does – providing support for programs, the year-round book sale, the Learning Series and various other fund raisers, enables the purchase of those extra items which make the Library special. This could not occur without the time and effort of volunteers. FEPL officers, directors and members of committees run these programs, but we need additional support.
We have board openings and committee positions for your consideration. Some of the committee positions include book sale, learning series, and hospitality. If you have any interest or questions, please send me an email. I would be happy to help and discuss the role you would be able to play in FEPL operations.

Let’s work together to continue to make this Library the amazing place and resource that it is.
 Thanks, and happy holidays!

New Services at EPL
It’s a busy time of year and we have a few new services that can help you save time and money.  “Automatic Renewals” is now offered by all CLAMS libraries! Eligible items like books, CDs, and DVDs will automatically renew up to three times. Some items, such as those with holds or from outside the CLAMS system, cannot be renewed. You will be sent a notice of your new due dates via email.
Another time saver is the new option to reserve discount museum passes online. Some passes you pick up at the library, others you can print out or download to your phone.
Looking for that perfect gift just got easier! Consumer Reports online is available to Chatham patrons using your CLAMS card. Don't have time to stop by the Library? Download an ebook or audiobook using the Libby app by Overdrive or the Hoopla app.
Happy Holidays from all of us at EPL!

Learning Series: Behind the Scenes
The Fall 2019 semester of the Learning Series completes the schedule with three more sessions of Movies of Remembrance on Tuesdays in the Forgeron Room. At the same time, the Learning Series Committee is getting the Spring 2020 semester scheduled for a start at the end
of March. This ongoing work by the committee includes developing classes, writing descriptions, selecting dates, printing and distributing the brochure and registration form for the next session.

When those classes are in session, the committee has an on-site host coordinator for each class, a registrar, class lists, email reminders and a banker. The members of the Friends of the Eldredge Public Library are all volunteers. Please join us on the FEPL Learning Series Committee as a volunteer where you can use your skills and creativity on this satisfying adult education activity. Take an active role in developing or facilitating new classes, doing publicity, writing and editing, or distribution. Great ideas for future classes are always welcomed. For more information, to get specifics on volunteering, or to suggest a topic, contact Learning Series Co-chairs Regina McDowell and Joanna Schurmann at learningseries@eldredgelibrary.org.
