Dear Cathedral Community,

I am writing to you to let you know of an upcoming staff change. Sonja Slother, the Cathedral Director of Communication and Ministry Development, has resigned her position as of May 31st.

On behalf of the Cathedral, I would like to thank Sonja for her dedicated work to the cathedral these past seven and a half years.

The Wardens and I are currently working on an interim plan and we will
keep the cathedral community updated when we have more information to share.

In Christ,
The Rev. Canon Jason Shank
Sundays at 9:00 am: Adult Formation
May 22nd - Exploring a Zero Waste Church
Bob Ludwig will lead a discussion on a Zero Waste Church. He recently went to Washington, D.C. where he visited St. Columba Episcopal Church because he had learned St. Columba’s had endorsed the goal of zero waste. Does that sound like a goal which promises more than it can deliver? Or is it an aspiration which may fit St. Paul's? Join us Sunday, May 22nd and help explore a possible future.

May 29th - There will not be an Adult Formation session, inasmuch as it’s Memorial Day weekend. There are three more sessions before we conclude for the summer.

June 5th – Kathy Reiss will be talking about Pentecost and the mission of the Church.
June 12th – Earle King will be talking about the Trinity (Trinity Sunday is June 12) in art and music.
June 19th – The Social Justice Action Team will be addressing Refugee Sunday, connecting with the work of Journey’s End Refugee Services.

Meet in person at 9:00 am in the Flickinger Ministry Center or join us via Zoom with the link at SPCBuffalo.org.
Do you have bikes you don’t use?
Wheels for Workers 716 is a new non-profit, supporting Buffalo’s large number of re-settling families. Their mission is to provide bicycles and helmets to our newest neighbors who wish to work but lack basic transportation.

How it works:
  • Drop off bikes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 4007 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14226
  • Drop off anytime, at your convenience!
  • Our volunteer mechanics provide necessary service and repairs.
  • Journey’s End Refugee Services connects us to our new neighbors, linking ride-ready bikes to work-ready Buffalonians.

What they need:
  • Bikes and Bike Parts
  • Volunteers
  • Donations
  • Help Spreading the Word

How to reach them:
They’re still building their organizational structure. For now, send them a message through their Facebook page - Wheels for Workers 716
