Greeting & Announcements
Collect John 14:23-29
Call to Worship by Gil Le Fevre, Sunday Prayers, click here
- We come this morning full of ourselves:
- Our concerns, our plans, our opinions, our schedules.
- In this moment, help us empty our minds and make space for you.
- Enable us to put down our priorities; to set aside our assumptions and schemes.
- Open our hearts to recognize your love in action in our lives.
- Reassure us of your divine vision, and let us rest in your unending care.
Opening Hymn #325: "Hail, Thou Once Despised Jesus;" Tune: In Babilone; Words and Music: Public Domain
- Hail, thou once despised Jesus! Hail, thou Galilean King! Thou didst suffer to release us; thou didst free salvation bring. Hail, thou universal Savior, who hast borne our sin and shame! By thy merits we find favor; life is given through thy name.
- Paschal Lamb, by God appointed, all our sins on thee were laid; by almighty love anointed, thou hast full atonement made. Every sin may be forgiven through the virtue of thy blood; opened is the gate of heaven, reconciled are we with God.
- Jesus, hail! enthroned in glory, there forever to abide; all the heavenly hosts adore thee, seated at thy Father's side. There for sinners thou art pleading; there thou dost our place prepare; thou for saints art interceding till in glory they appear.
- Worship, honor, power, and blessing Christ is worthy to receive; loudest praises, without ceasing, right it is for us to give. Help, ye bright angelic spirits, bring your sweetest, noblest lays; help to sing of Jesus' merits, help to chant Emmanuel's praise!

Sermon
Sermon Hymn #376: "Dona Nobis Pacem;" Tune: Dona Nobis Pacem; Words and Music: Public Domain
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Pastoral Prayer
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

-
Words: "Alleluia!” now we cry to our King immortal, who, triumphant, burst the bars of the tomb’s dark portal; “Alleluia!” with the Son, God the Father praising, “Alleluia!” yet again to the Spirit raising.
Closing Hymn #157, St. 1-4: "Jesus Shall Reign;" Tune: Duke Street; Words and music: Public Domain
- Jesus shall reign where'er the sun does its successive journeys run; his kingdom spread from shore to shore, till moons shall wax and wane no more.
- To Jesus endless prayer be made, and endless praises crown his head; his name like sweet perfume shall rise with every morning sacrifice.
- People and realms of every tongue dwell on his love with sweetest song; and infant voices shall proclaim their early blessings on his name.
- Blessings abound where'er he reigns; all prisoners leap and loose their chains; the weary find eternal rest, and all who suffer want are blest.
Benediction
