Spring Online Show Application Opens January 14
Associate and Associate with Distinction Members, be sure to put the application dates for AWA's 2021 Spring Online Juried Show on your calendar: January 14 - March 15, 2021.The prospectus is currently available at onlinejuriedshows.com.
This show will feature approximately 125 works. Show prizes will include almost $15,000 in cash and merchandise awards and a gallery show at Sparrow Gallery, Sacramento, CA.

"Lifting the Sky" Jurors Announced
AWA is thrilled to announce that three prestigious members of the art community will be our selection and awards jurors for our National Online Juried Show, Lifting the Sky. The jurors are Emily Larsen, Head of Exhibitions and Programs at Springville Museum of Art, UT; Monika Meler, abstract printmaker and Foundations Art Coordinator and Assistant Professor at the University of Saint Francis, Fort Wayne, IN; and Mary Williams, owner of Mary Williams Fine Arts in Boulder, CO.

A Successful Giving Tuesday
American Women Artists recently announced that we surpassed our $3,500 goal for Giving Tuesday and raised $3,895 towards parity for women in fine arts!
Thank you to our Patrons & Members for your generous donations! With your help, AWA can continue to provide amazing opportunities for women in the arts.

AWA's Guiding Principles:
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
In order to better promote all women in the visual fine arts, one of American Women Artists' goals is to increase its diversity in age, race, skill set, and art style, of both our membership and our leadership. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are guiding principles at the core of AWA's mission & vision.
In order to reach this goal, this year AWA formed a Diversity Task Force to examine, assess, and develop strategies. One of our first steps was to look inward and elicit input from our members. Our member experiences and voices will be instrumental in evolving AWA's structure to continue to provide support and value to our members and to gain more diversity within the organization. AWA will continue to work towards this goal and take the steps necessary to achieve it.

2020 Wrap Up
This past year has been anything but "normal" for all of us. Through it all, we've achieved so much in 2020, and it's because of dedicated Members and generous Patrons like you. Thank you!
- 2020 was the first year AWA awarded a $10,000 Grand Prize award.
- AWA began a portfolio review program - nearly 60 AWA members were able to participate in the new program in 2020.
- Five paintings and sculptures by AWA's artists were purchased by the Booth Museum for its permanent collection, bringing the number of museum purchase awards since the start of our 25 in 25 Campaign in 2017 to 10 works of art by women artists!
- Over 75% of our funds were used on programming directly supporting our mission.
- Membership grew 11% from 978 members in 2019 to 1,137 members in 2020

AWA Signature Member News
Check out some of the great news that our Signature Members have shared this month!
Nadine Robbins will be featured at the Arnot Art Museum for its triennial show 3 AMERICANS: Masters | Muirhead | Robbins. The exhibition, which opened on December 22, showcases the paintings of hyperrealist Nadine Robbins, landscape artist Bruce Muirhead, and the monumental drawings of Richard Masters.
Two of Ginger Gehres' scratchboard paintings were accepted and received awards (1st Place Award and 2nd Place Ribbon Award in the Graphics Division) in t he Arts of the Pamlico's 56th Fine Arts Show in Washington, NC.
