The exemption process began on Sunday, December 1 and will conclude this Sunday, December 8, 2019. Registration will begin on Sunday, December 8 and ends on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Lynne grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where copious amounts of lake effect snow during the winter months turned her neighborhood into a child's winter wonderland and enabled her Dad to turn her backyard into an ice rink. So, perhaps those early years foreshadowed how she would be spending many winters with her family in the future.  Lynne graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Marketing, began her first outside sales job, married her college sweetheart, and moved to Grand Haven where they got even more snow! Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Dinner Ticket Information

Chicago Blackhawks Claim Tier V USA Hockey Sled Classic Championship Title
The Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks each earned titles Sunday (Nov. 24) at the 10th annual  USA Hockey Sled Classic , presented by the NHL.

"Once again Chicago stood out at the USA Hockey Sled Classic with another championship title and a 2nd place banner," said Michael Svac, USA Hockey Central District Disabled Hockey Representative. A total of 19 hockey players from the Chicago Blackhawks competed during the four day event to play some great hockey. READ MORE>>

Register Today for the 2020 Illinois State Girls Hockey Championships!
By Anita Lichterman, AHAI Girls Chair - It's time to register for the 2020 Illinois State Girls Hockey Championships! All organizations with Girls Tier II or Tier III teams have been sent an email that includes the 2020 Girls State Tournament Invitation Packet - click HERE to view. Please don't delay, register early to be part of the excitement.

Please note: Any player that is double rostered on two (2) National Bound level teams must declare for which team she will play in the State Tournament by Dec. 31, 2019. A player may not play on two (2) teams (e.g. one Girls and one Youth team) in the State Tournament that are at the National Bound level (14U, 16U, 19U).

Attention all sophomore, junior or senior high school age girls! If you have not yet committed to a college/university, America's Showcase could be exactly what you need to help you reach the next chapter of your life.

If you're wanting to play hockey in college, please consider registering for the 2020 Illinois Girls' Showcase Team. Many NCAA DIII and ACHA coaches and scouts will be on hand in St. Louis looking for players to round out their teams. It's never too early to register. HOHO High School Tourney Set For Dec. 28-31 at Fifth Third Arena with 18 Teams

By Ross Forman - The 26th annual HOHO High School Tourney will be held Dec. 28-31 at Fifth Third Arena in Chicago, replacing the long-running Chicago Blackhawks Foundation Tournament that was a post-Christmas tradition at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville and noted for games played with two halves, not three periods.  The HOHO event, run by Chicago-based Ultimate Hockey Tournaments and supported by AHAI and the Chicago Blackhawks, will feature 18 teams representing three states. All games will be three 16-minute periods. "Ultimate Tournaments is excited and honored," to present the premiere high school tourney for the Chicagoland area in the final days of December, said John Schwarz, owner of Ultimate Tournaments.  READ MORE>>
DuPage Stars JV Player Scores One of the Quickest Goals in Illinois High School History
By Ross Forman - Joshua Llaneta scored that one goal Saturday, Nov. 23 that he will never forget.  It was, after all, one of the quickest goals in Illinois high school hockey history.  Llaneta, a sophomore JV forward for the co-op DuPage Stars, scored about 6.36 seconds into a Stars White Team game against Neuqua Valley JV2, as timed off the LiveBarn feed. Blackhawk Alumni Association Scholarship Application Process is Now Open!
The Chicago Blackhawk Alumni Association (CBAA)  distributes college scholarships annually to the three most deserving high school hockey players. Awards are determined from a candidate's level of community service, volunteerism, good citizenship, academic performance as well as the hockey talent of the individual. Recipients will receive an annual $7,500.00 scholarship over four years for a total of $30,000.

We encourage all of the senior high school players to take the time to submit their applications. We also encourage all of the coaches, managers and team/league presidents to promote and support this effort. The players really deserve it!

AHAI Congratulates the November BMO Harris Bank Youth Hockey Award Winners!
The Chicago Blackhawks and BMO Harris Bank are proud to honor members of the hockey community. Each month during the regular season they recognize the excellence of a youth hockey player, coach and volunteer. AHAI congratulates November's Award Winners: Player - Olive Ryan of the Skokie Flyers, Volunteer - Jack Raslawski of Illinois Hockey Officials Association (IHOA), and Coach - Charice Wilczynski of the Glacier Avalanche. November's youth hockey award winners were recognized at the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning game on Thursday, November 21st.

Calling All Squirts! Join Us for the Mini 1-on-1 Challenge at Fifth Third Arena on January 3rd!
In partnership with AHAI, the Mini 1-on-1 Challenge allows participants to showcase their skills while contending to become the top shooter or goalie in the Squirt-age division. The competition will take place at Fifth Third Arena on January 3, 2020. The top two goalies and top two skaters will battle for the championship at the United Center during the intermission of the Chicago Blackhawks home game on January 11, 2020! The winning team (player and goalie) will win tickets to the 2020 NHL® All-Star Game in St. Louis on January 25-26, 2020. MORE INFORMATION>>
